I'll be honest: If iWatch is just an iPhone without the mobile stuff in it, I'd buy it. Depends on app support, of course.

New generation A8 chip, 2 billion transistors and 64-bit support. It's a 20nm process.
The A8 is 50 times faster than the original iPhone.
It's up to 50 percent more energy efficient than the last-gen chip.

don't really see the huff, std gold is fairly soft, and you can work harden gold depending on how you manufacture it and what you toss in as an alloy.

I wish Apple would focus on optimization of iOS for older devices.  Google did this pretty well with Kit Kat.  Hopefully L continues the tradition but I'm not hopeful based on Google's new design initiative.

That said, Apple probably doesn't give a shit because they know nearly their entire user base is fully okay with the 1-2 year update cycle.  Why optimize the firmware for the 4S (or 5 in this case) when the user base for that phone will only be around 5 percent?

I think Apple Pay will definitely legitimize NFC, and I'm excited for that. Android fans can rightfully tout having features first, but the truth of the matter is that Apple's implementation will more often than not bring the feature/technology to the forefront for a lot of people.

I'm typically an Apple figgurt but the iPhone 6 looks like hot garbage. If y'all thought the conference earlier this year was Apple proclaiming "me too!" then this one is even more shameless. Thing looks exactly like an Android phone and is pointlessly large for no reason other than to compete.

I don't get the smart watch thing.  Just seems so pointless when you already have a phone in your pocket.  At least the Moto 360 one looks like an actual watch and not a tiger LCD toy.

Will probably get an iPhone 6 (regular size, unless I get to see the Plus first and it doesn't seem too large), although I have been thinking about maybe trying an Android phone.

who the fug is wearing square watches? unless its one of the casio calculators (still dubious) gtfo. moto 360 is sweet, and i see the application. id like to keep my phone in my bag and get notifications from such a subtle device, i hate missing messages and calls and you'd always notice a slight buzz on your wrist, but its definitely aimed at the more ocd among us.

I'm hoping the rumblings of a smaller than 6" nexus 6 option are true. Otherwise I don't know wtf I'm gonna do for a new phone.

So seriously, can we get a feature matrix of what AppleWatch stuff you need the iPhone for? Jony sez in the video that you can "play music directly from the AppleWatch if you leave your iPhone at home when you go for a jog". But you need the iPhone for GPS, and most people like to track their runs/walks/cycles. Would be hilarious if the thing is pretty much useless in situations where you have to put your phone into airplane mode, for instance.

$349 iPhone accessory, y'all

What the hell....the watch doesn't even have GPS? So, it's 100 percent useless then?

Goddamn, somebody make a deal with Mephisto and resurrect Jobs already. The guy was a human wastepot, but he made some neat gadget decisions.

No they didn't and I bet we can all guess why.

No idea what I'm going to do for my next phone now.  Was looking at Androids but I'm not sure if there's any point in switching.  I didn't know Flash got removed; that would have been a big selling point for me.

I want better battery life, so if I stick with Apple I'm gonna have to get the iPhone 6 Plus.  Not sure if I want something that big.

I'm hoping the rumblings of a smaller than 6" nexus 6 option are true. Otherwise I don't know wtf I'm gonna do for a new phone.

Every smartwatch is 99% useless (at least it tells time, no?) until you can pop in a SIM card.

I want to answer calls w/o having my $350 watch being tethered to my $350 phone, yo. Shit is useless for now.

I kind of feel the same as B, whats the point of a watch if you have to have your phone with you...

I'm on a 4s right now and thinking I might just upgrade to a 5s instead of a 6. Plus does not interest me.

I made that move a couple months ago, and let me tell you it's pretty goddamned sweet. I was willing to trade up just for the battery, but the processor is clearly peppier, and the fingerprint reader is neat for simplifying the input of lock/unlock codes and purchase passwords. If you do any fitness stuff, there's a built-in pedometer. I thought I was going to hate the Lightning Cable, but it's pretty sweet.

We got three regular 6 models and one Plus this morning.  The Plus is mine and won't come until late October, but the other three are next week.  I don't understand why people stayed up late, losing sleep in an attempt to order ASAP.  It's a fucking phone that is replacing the similar phone that you already have.

What's the point?  Get a regular 6.
