Interactive.  After that, it's movies, followed by games, followed by books.

I'm only making books last (they would have been first 10 years ago), because the quality in books has sucked so bad recently (compared to the other entertainment mediums).

I chose Music... :-[

I would have to order it Music > Games > Movies > TV

If we're talking pure entertainment that can be garnered from something, the interaction with games beats out Movies easily.

I don't think anyone is saying games is a superior medium, but if we're talking about shits and giggles fun, games wins hands down for me.  The interaction with friends, different things you can do just makes it for me.  Now if you asked which I took more seriously as an art form, appreciated more etc., I would say films.  But you cant yell "pwned!" in a headset at some hillbilly douche bag during Garden State, can you?

How can you say games are a superior medium to film?

This is nothing about being superior. I get a high playing games more than do anything else on this list. Music is meh, I get bored with it after about a month usually. Books are great, but right now, the quality of literature ain't so hot. Movie are excellent, but currently at the point in time, I'd rather play a great game like Grim Fandango than watch a movie. Not only do I get a mixture of all of 3 of these other choices, I also get interactivity as an added bonus.

1. Games
2. Books
3. Movies
4. TV
5. Music

That's not to say that games are a better art form than the others, but who's to say what art form is better? I prefer games, though. The games I play give me more satisification than watching a movie, and it's rare that I watch a movie that inspires me. You guys judge games based on these old types of media (tv, film, music) rather than on it's own merits.

See, I just can't agree with those fucktards.

Now if you asked which one could entertain me for longer and keep me more involved and which one I thought was generally more fun, I'd say the earlier Final Fantasy games.

But as in just better, quality, apples to apples, The Godfather is like Jesus on a plate!

Exactly. I'm not saying bullshit like Final Fantasy is better than Godfather, because it isn't. But the interactivity level and fun makes it a more pleasant experience to me. But sure, if we're talking about as an art form, I'd prefer movies and books, but this poll isn't about that. It clearly says entertainment in the title.

But TVC, I admitted movies were a superior medium and art form, but if we're comparing how much fun I have with a great movie versus a great game, the game is going to win because it's significantly longer, interactive etc.

But if I was going to say which one I appreciated more, it would be the movie.

Depends on the movie and game. To me "entertainment" means more than "woohoo this is fun!" It can mean something that's intriguing, captivating, etc. For me something like Brazil would be more captivating than most games, while watching the old Star Wars would be more entertaining in terms of "OMG fun"

Exactly. Their are just plain FUN films then there are the captivating all time greats. To Kill A Mockingbird is more captivating than any RPG.

Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Wars are more fun than any game, and I love games.

You prove you don't know anything about games aside from Nintenjew games. "OMG fun" is only one aspect of gaming aesthetics, so I'm sorry about that PD.

There are some games that are more than omg fun, PD. Ever play a horror game? There's an element of atmosphere that is something movies just can't do. It's about the thrill of the scare, the atmosphere. I'd rather play a horror game than watch a typical Hollywood horror film, unless it's psycho horror flicks like Jacob's Ladder. Ever play a point and click adventure game? Often times they have dialog and characters that rival that best of Disney. I'd rather play Grim Fandango than watch fucking Eragorn or whatever shit movie it is you take to see your little brother.

There's so much more to games than omg fun, and it's a shame you haven't even bothered to get a better look at gaming's variety. But then again, you did only have a gamecube last gen.

There are, I never disputed that. But on the flip side, you instead appreciating games for their own merits, you compare them to film, which really isn't fair. And even still, there are some games which are more fun than some films. The key word here is some.

I bet you think Chicken Little is a better experience than playing Monkey Island.

I have never encontered a horror game even halfway as scary as the scariest films

Films really aren't that scary to me. Omg something popped out of the window!! when you knew it happen anyways. With games, since I am in control of my avatar, it makes the experience more personal.

Actually it makes the experience more linear and less scary since you know that all you have to do is beat the game to "win". There are some great horror movies that don't have happy, "I win" endings

How did I troll?  :lol I stole the same tactic he did by comparing games and movies directly.

You were going to troll anyone who voted games in the first place.
I made that clear in the first post.  :badass

It was originally going to be Film, TV, Books, and Music but I decided "what the hell this way the thread will get more replies".

And the thread is better for it.  Who doesn't love a Himu wah wah fest?

Just admit that FF7 is better than 8.  8 is like the Smallville of FFs.  7 is the Buffy.

Never seen it actually.  My brother and sister were all into it, but I've never seen more than the opening song.

Doctor Who couldn't beat Lord Soth.

1. The Doctor is a doctor; Lord Soth is a Lord.
2. The Doctor has the Sonic Screwdriver and K-9; Lord Soth can cast Power Word: Kill and/or Finger of Death 5x/day and has a legion of powerful spectres at his command.
3. Doctor Who never scores; Lord Soth banged some dumb elf bitch.

Well, for one they are BBC DVDs, so there's going to be some butt raping involved.  Second, a lot of the episodes from the first 3 Doctors are "lost" or destroyed.   There is a like, early years box set of 3 DVDs.  I thinkt here is like barely any material still around from the second Doctor.

Plus in the old seasons, there were like 40some episodes per season, and at BBC prices, box sets that big would be expensive.

Also, the quality was rather hit and miss, to be honest, at least up until the Fourth Doctor.  Tom Baker's run is pretty consistent.  The Doctors after were also, hit and miss, in some cases, very miss.

I have a question, how wrong is it to buy food in change (quarters, nickels, dimes... $4.50 worth), when I have money.  I just don't want my change anymore.  I figured I'd ask in this thread for shits and giggles.

God, I hate change.

1.  Incorrect.  There is never any indication that the Doctor is a real doctor.  He is a Time LORD, so he is also a Lord.
2. Those abilities only work on lower leveled creatures.  Lord Soth is only level 18.  The Doctor is definitely way beyond that.
3.  The Doctor coulda banged any number of companions.  In some episodes, sex is implied.  It is implied in The Girl in the Fireplace that he fucked Madame de Pompadour (and invented the banana daquiri in the same night).

Is it possible that Jack in the Box tacos were sent directly from the heavens?  When I open the taco, it tells me "no", but when I taste the feces, it screams "yes."

Also, the first time I realized my sister was truly black, was when she took 6 jars of change to a department store and bought a 150 dollar dress.  The whole time she was telling me "It's still money and every penny counts!"  I wanted to say "But there's a Krogers with a Coin Star!" but I knew she'd say "THEY TAKE 8 CENTS OUT OF EVERY DOLLARS!  HELL NAW!"

And I just realized I was hispanic when I bought 4 tacos and 2 hamburger deluxes in change.  What's really bad is that when I pulled all the change out of my pocket, I pulled a twenty dollar bill out too and then quickly shoved it back in.  I know she saw it.

games.

movies are just shitty in comparison.  You'll get acting, cinematography, music, or most commonly story to take you out of it and considering it's something you watch normally once, that's enough to ruin it.  Very few movies are perfect, compared to many games on different platforms.

I rate it games>books>music>movies.
