currently!
Titan Quest (PC) -- almost finished hades on normal. can't wait to start my epic run for the mega-loot.
Virtua Fighter 5 (PS3) -- still stuck at 5th dan with lei-fei.
Baten Kaitos Origins (Gamecube) -- played about 1/4 into it and enjoyed that time last year; now i'm gonna finish it up. i know dragona was seriously nutting over this game, and while i think she's little touched in the head on it -- probably because it's a gamecube exclusive from former tri-ace devs -- it really is an excellent rpg and definitely the best on the ol' 'pube. the card-based battle system rocks, and there's plenty of flash. the gay robot guy cracks me up.
Parodius Collection (PSP) -- jawesome. i wish i could read the titles, but i've been playing the 3rd-5th titles in the collection obsessively.
-
metal slug 6, on ps2 and psp. at this point i can routinely get to the third boss on one credit, but i don't know how you're supposed to dodge a couple of his attacks, and it's hard to get much damage in. :( i wish there was a boss rush mode.
incidentally it's kind of cool to have the same game on ps2 and psp. and slug 6 probably looks better on psp -- it has some slowdown issues, but it nearly eliminates the jarring resolution gap between the sprites and the backgrounds.
-
Rainbow Six Vegas
Puzzle Quest
Legend of Heroes 2
Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning
XMen 3: The Official Game
-
Are you the one who said Luxor 2 > Zuma, cause if so, youre right.
-
Fo sho, I got a review code for it but haven't touched it. I just know.
-
Gears of War online, i both love and hate it. The new gameplay mode annex is pretty fun. Might be playing the new halo 2 maps tomorrow or whatever.

Doing turtle runs in legendary. After level 40-42 or so loot really takes over in terms of character progression. Fantastic game.

There's sooo much content to be had here. I don't play it at super-rivetcounter settings but I do embrace the game as a sim and find it exceedingly rewarding. I am going to dig up a copy of Flight Sim X for and if I wind up liking that as much I'm going to blow a couple of hundred bucks on some upgraded sim gear.
Criminally, criminally underrated. I play another game for multiplayer, but RoL has a great campaign and skirmish mode that Supreme Commander completely lack.
Sort of an "instant classic" for me. I'm going to participate pretty hard in the challenge ladders when they open up in May. I really wish I had a decent partner for 2v2 ranked play who was laid back and cool.
It's pretty safe to say that this is going to be the turn-based GOTY unless the Civ4 expansion really pulls out all the stops. Like Titan Quest: Immortal Throne, Dark Avatar goes back and tunes the game to both expand the scope of the initial design and address almost every single big improvement that the original GalCiv2 had. Awesome stuff.
Right now it's wedding madness (11 days until I get married), then off to the honeymoon, where my gaming will be non-existent, thankfully-if I get the free time, I'm reading dammit. When I get back in town I am looking forward to the aforementioned Supreme Commander challenge ladder, and the US release of Armed Assault.

Titan Quest: Immortal Throne
- OMG the hype is true, this is the <a href=http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17814933/from/RS.1/>Strawberry Quik</a> of roguelikes!
<img src=http://www.ebgames.com/common/images/lbox/230006b.jpg>
Super Paper Mario
- About to drop it, the gameplay and pacing are zzzz and I don't get off on N-thing nostalgia or meta-game narrative like I used to.
<img src=http://files.telltalegames.com/samandmax/screenshots/reality2.0/ep5_meeting.jpg>
Sam and Max: Episode 5
- Not really, but it's out now and I have a subscription so I should start it at some point.
<img src=http://www.ebgames.com/common/images/lbox/646436b.jpg>
World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade
- I need to hit 70 to regain my pride as a gamer and a man. At 65.5; just went to Nagrand. I'm a Priest, so playing the game at this point is like pulling sucky teeth.
<img src=http://image4.play-asia.com/640/4r/pa.85894.21.jpg>
DJ Max Portable 2
- This is one I'll be coming back to for months and months, so it's a slow burn.
<img src=http://www.ebgames.com/common/images/lbox/190396b.jpg>
Puzzle Quest
- Finished this; fun, but unbalanced and buggy. 7.5. (I would like to see more crossover games like this and Bookworm Adventures, however.)

I am on a Rockstar games run right now. I beat GTAIII, and now I'm playing Vice City. I am enjoying it a lot more than I did on previous play throughs, I guess it's because I'm in the mood. I forgot how non linear the game gets when you take over Diaz's mansion. I don't think I'll be replaying San Andreas and I'd be willing to bet that after all of this GTA playing the past few weeks, it's been bumped to my least favorite 3d GTA. Anyways, VC feels fresh to me again because it's been so long since I played it. I love Tommy <3
Along with that I am playing Max Payne 2: Fall of Max Payne and The Warriors, except now on Xbox. I still love The Warriors. Max Payne 2 is okay. I may give Manhunt a try sometime. It's really the only notable Rockstar game from last gen sans Midnight Club I have not played.

GTA and all its clones suck.

What the fuck? Have you even played Max Payne or The Warriors? The Warriors is probably the best 3d beat em up there is.

I haven't played anything in like a week. :-\

Man, Patel, how are the other Sam and Max episodes? I've been thinking about trying them because I love Hit The Road. What's the control scheme like?
I've been thinking of just waiting for the 360 version.

Super Paper Mario and FF6 Advance. SPM is amazing and creative as all hell. Has some niggling issues but its the best next gen game yet. FF6 was never my favorite FF, don't like the Esper system nor aimlessness of the World of Ruin. Still, its a lot more charming than I remembered it, I'm a sucker for sprite based 2D graphics, and its amazing how much more "alive" these characters feel when compared to some of the newest, heavy-polygon, shader 2.0 games...

Finished the main quest in Shivering Isles. I have to say, it was a helluva lot more fun than the main quest in Oblivion (not that the main quest in Oblivion wasn't fun). The characters were just wackier and more interesting. It's also really pretty, and the loot is much better. Plus, Madness Armor. Well worth the MS shamebucks.
Still playing Guitar Hero II, though not as much as I was the first week I had it. I have fallen out of love with it since trying to play on Medium. "Practicing" seems too much like work. And, I'm pretty pissed that the only way to unlock extra songs and music is by playing on Medium or harder. There's a whole extra "level" I missed by playing on Easy. I don't see myself ever getting good enough to unlock everything, and I think that's BS. I paid for it, and there ought to be a cheat code to unlock everything for those of us who just want to dick around. If you're gonna work that hard and practice that much, you might as well just buy a real guitar.
The Warriors for PSP is on sale for $15 at CC this week, so I might buy that to go in the "I'll get to it eventually" pile.

I started playing this again too over the weekend. I got to disc 2 last year (took over 30 hours!) and stopped playing because of school and finals. It seems a lot better than the first one, especially because of the voice acting and the battle system (one of the best there is imo).
-
BK was one of those games that I really wanted to like, but the game did its damndest to make me dislike it... but a lot of the pressing issues from the first game (limit on event magnuses, awful dialogue, plodding gameplay, cliche plot) have apparently been fixed in the sequel. I'm gonna get to it eventually... I think my next game once SPM is done will be Planescape.
-
I am playing Super Street Fighter II Turbo (CCC2) for the first time in my life, with my brother. I never liked SF2 that much back in the day, I thought Killer Instict and Mortal Kombat were superior because of the blood and the infinite combos in KI. I went to check KI Gold a few days ago and its just horrible... :-\
I was also playing 3rd Strike, but didnīt like it that much. I like playing with Ryu in SF2, but his hadokens are easily parriable in 3rd strike, plus they are too weak and too slow :(. So far I like ST the better.
-
VF4 Evo/VF5 & SS3 Third Strike are pure sex for technical fighting fans.
-
I love QTE events in games.
-
It's like playing a movie, it's so awesome.
-

Figures
-
Be for real now, QTEs aren't awful. Probably the best part about Shenmue.
-
I don't think PD plays video games.

GoW II is pretty badass, QTE or not
-
Didnt think so ;)

MAF is always wrong about video games.

RE4 is so good. QTEs make that happen.

WoW sucks. Pile of dog shit.

CRAP!

I wasted a good 15-18 months of my life playing that game.
Never again.
-
I go back every once in a while for 2-3 months then quit for another 3-4 months lol
-
I've wasted a good 15-18 months of my life and I have never played WoW. Beat that.
-
Well, I had a social life before that demi, so it was a bit of a tragedy.
-
I'm playing WoW, obviously. And in a week I'll be playing Pokemon Diamond
-
Haven't played much lately. Played a few rounds of SF2 Turbo on XBLA last night against a few unsporting chaps. That's about it.
I thought this was a piece of shit? It's made by Dream Factory, after all...
-
Nothings really new on the Scenester front. Just slogging/grinding through my Jrpg triple threat of Baten Kaitos Origins, FFIII DS and FFXII. Its payday tomorrow so will probably buy some shit. Tiger Woods Wii is on the cards :-\
BTW Baten Kaitos Origins is one of the best rpgs ever, totally defecates all over the first game
-
Street Fighter II and Contra III on the Virtual Console and the first Phoenix Wright on DS. Virtual Console actually means my Wii gets played a lot. My flatmates are hopelessly obsessed with Mean Bean Machine. Practically no-one wants to play Wario's Woods though. :(
-
Oh yeah I forgot about the Wii. Dusted it off and have been playing Punch-Out!! on the VC.
-
Just ff12..
I have time for a couple hours here or there every couple days.
then almost any time I DO play cuts into my sleep so fuck. :(
Theeeeeeeeeeeeere's nooooooooooooooooo tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime

Lol VC

Lol VC
Lol!

onimusha 4 :dizzy and phenoex write 2 :D

Total MS day. Was playing Halo 2 on Live, did pretty decent for someone who hardly ever plays FPSes, heard enough n-bombs dropped to annihilate Nairobi, then played TMNT over Live. The latter was a total blast, my first time trying that game over Live. Then I played some Outrun 2 and Panzer Dragoon Orta on the original Xbox.
-

Oh, it is a piece of shit. I got it for $12 from Play-Asia a couple weeks ago.

Appleseed was a fairly cool movie, if it's the one I'm thinking of. With Akufen on the soundtrack...

How much is Gundam Musou imported, how much japanese do I need to know?
You can get it for about $65 new from YesAsia and Play-Asia. Too bad you didn't think about picking it up a few weeks back, as it was ~$50 during their sale.
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/code-c/version-all/section-games/did-5/pid-1004611801/
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-bp-49-en-70-1v6c.html
You don't need to know any Japanese to play the game. You might be slightly lost following the storyline in Official Mode if you're not familiar with the shows (Gundam, Zeta, Double Zeta). Original mode has a totally off the wall/over the top storyline which will confuse you, but it's so incredibly fun that you won't care. My minimal Japanese knowledge (four years of high school Japanese from 1995-1999) helps me out, but I don't think you'll be too lost if you don't know any.
-
Are the menu items in english?
-
Are the menu items in english?
The menus are 90% English.
The upgrade parts and skills menus, however, are all in Japanese. There's a pretty good FAQ that someone is putting together that helps translate them into English, which has helped seeing how my kanji knowledge is horrible.
-
k, thanks for the info.
-
I just picked up the last copy of earth defense force 2017 at gamestop.
I hope it doesn't suck, it's all I had money for.
-
I hated it but im not wacky jappy gaffy

How about them Slayers?

Rox
-
It's all right, at least it's a good co-op game.
-
Okay I went out and got some shit on VC too, Gain Ground is totally sweet. Go up to like level 50 last night but when the robots turn up you lose your dudes like crazy. Awesome game

Did you get Contra?

Yes
-
Baldur's Gate
the whole mumbo jumbo about THAC0 and Saving Throws is killing me.
-
Is it that DVD version? I think the only things I hated about BG1 were the disc swapping and imoen.
The best Infinity Engine games combat wise IMO were Icewind Dale offerings with Planescape Torment offering up the best story, atmosphere, and quest variety.
-
Yeah it's the DVD. I got it for free years ago when I bought a pc. Never played it seriously. Well I tried but it was too hard and I ended up cheating and only got to the Nashkel Mines and still couldn't survive. Right now, I am at Nashkel Mines again, but legit.
-
Icewind Dale 2 was pretty difficult too, I forget if either the community or the developer ended up patching it to make it a little easier.
-
Metroid Prime Pinball. Found it new at Fred Meyer for 8 bucks. Fun game.
-
Ive heard its a good cheap buy. I just picked up Kororinpa and Tiger Woods for Wii.
-
Once again I'm not playing any games and eating ice cream instead.
-
im drinking
-
yeah Im doing a bit of that. My flatmate got some yummy 15 year old Single Malt Scotch for his birthday so I'll be getting into some of that :-[

what brand? Im drinking Dalmore tonight.

Or did you mean for the U.S.? Yeah like that's gonna happen LOLZ LOLZ LOLZ

My dick.

Neowave.
-
:(
-
WHAT?! Maf you should have known we wouldn't get updated kof for ps2 since 2k5 (or was that 2k6) was actually KOF: Maximum Impact 2!
-
The U.S. got KOF Neowave on the Xbox. That's a slightly gimped port from what I hear though. It's the lack of KOF XI, NGBC, and SS Tenka that are the real crimes here. And dumbass SNK USA is like "HEY FORGET THOSE WE'RE GIVING YOU ART OF FIGHTING!!" ::)
Updated my playing list since I spent a bunch of time last night playing fighters...
Picked up Super Paper Mario thursday but haven't felt like playing it yet.

Every time I try to play SF3 3s online there's NOBODY playing. :/ Still looking for a copy of KOF Neowave on the XBox, but meanwhile the game being added to BC got me playing the PS2 version again. I forgot how much I like playing it, and how FAST Neowave is. I don't know why I'm bothering trying to find Neowave on Xbox, since I'm sure no one plays it online anyway.

Please go over this. Neowave lacks fucking kofxi?!
FUCK IT I'LL IMPORT.
-
Please go over this. Neowave lacks fucking kofxi?!
FUCK IT I'LL IMPORT.
Not sure what you're saying, but you sound confused. KOF Neowave is a stand-alone release. It is not a double-pack like KOF 2002 and 2003 were. Neowave is basically a remixed 2002, with a slightly different roster and some added game play elements. It uses the same sprites as KOF 2002, not the redrawn/changed ones used in KOF 2003, which came out earlier.
KOF XI is the real sequel to KOF 2003. It's got a shit ton of fighters, an improved tag system, and just all-around kicks fucking ass. Along with Neo-Geo Battle Coliseum and Samurai Spirits Tenkaichi Kenkakuden, it's easily the best fighting game released from the "new" SNK.
KOF XI did not get released on the Xbox, BTW. It's a PS2-only release. Neowave was the last of the bunch on the Xbox.
-
Ah.
So we have to import kofxi.
-
I want KOFXI or whatever, not 2006/7
-
I bought GOD HAND for $16... it's a lot of fun, reminiscent of a classic brawler, doesn't take itself seriously at all. I think you turn a little too fast though and I'm worried that the novelty will wear thin after a while (I'm on the end of the second chapter). Great game, I think a lot of the mainstream reviewers just didn't "get it".
-
I dunno the games pretty challenging. Man I felt awesome the first time I beat those two femme mexican wrestler guys. I mean the whole novelty angle could be played against any beat em up, and God Hand has a lot more going for it with the custom combos and whatnot.
-
People are actually playing ps3 games?
600 dollar system, 70 dollar games, i laugh myself into a everlasting coma.
VF5 is pretty good, but not worth 70$. Maybe 40.
-
VF5 is all im playing on ps3 lol. Im a big VF nut tho.

I finally decided to devote my gaming attention to God of War II. Absolutely incredible title, Sony did a good job with the PS2's swan song (even if Persona 3 has yet to come out). I haven't finished GOWII yet, but I'm already eagerly awaiting the next one on the PS3.
-
I'm currently playing
PC
Command & Conquer 3
Titan Quest: Immortal Throne
World of Warcraft
Nintendo DS
Pokemon Diamond
Puzzle Quest
There are more games I'm playing but I've developed video game ADD over the past 5 years or so. I can't bring myself to finish a game anymore. I'm hoping to change that with Pokemon Diamond so I can battle and trade with people.
-
Finally finished Baten Kaitos Origins, fucking awesome game. Anyone with a Cube that likes RPGs should pick it up.
Currently playing:
Tiger Woods 07 for Wii
Kororinpa
Still slogging through FFXII, its getting a bit boring :-\ I do really like the characters though.
Probably going to plug in the Dreamcast back in tonight, Ive been meaning to get back into Headhunter and Ninja Warriors
-
I wish my dreamcast wasn't broken. I could play the fuck out of some jet grind radio right now. Like.. until the basketball game comes on.
-
cyanista, i have an extra boxed dreamcast i ain't doin' shit with. $30 + S&H. you want?
-
Um, hell yes! Just give me like... a week (if you still aren't using it for shit). My budgeting is kind of tight atm.
