Title: This Semester I Handed in Late Papers for All of My Classes
Post by: Flannel Boy on April 17, 2007, 07:08:33 PM: The exception was logic class, but that's only because there were no papers to hand in. I did the math and if I handed in all my papers on time, and didn't skip class so much (and thus lose class participation marks), I'd have a solid cumulative 3.7 GPA and probably in law school.

No wonder conscientiousness predicts school grades better than IQ does.

I really dodged a bullet this semester because my other two finals are on Mon. and Tues., instead of this Wed. and Thurs. Meaning of course that I'll be able to study through the weekend for them.

I'm thinking I should be able to do very well on the law test. This time I'm going to be smart and actually study the damn cases instead of just looking over definition bullet points.

My math test should be ok; I need to utterly ace it considering I failed the last test. My econ final is worth the vast majority of the course so I need to really ace it - this should be easy because it's curved.

The average score at the school is 165 (95th percentile). That's what I averaged on all my practice tests :(.

I always wondered if Descartes put such a flimsy argument together just to appease the religious folks. He knew he'd be viewed as on their side if he made an argument for god, and thus be "protected," but at the same time his argument is so shitty that anyone capable of thinking for themselves could see that it's too flimsy to hold water.

My prof agrees with you. I'm not so certain. He basically used St. Anslems proof for the existence of God which most scholastics thought was strong. It is possible Descartes thought it was strong as well. Furthermore Descartes is only able to obtain certain knowledge based on non-deceiving God. Also since he predates Darwin, he would think that perceptual abilities obtained through a process of chance (as opposed to natural selection) would not be very reliable.

You can do it. I pulled an all nighter for my last med school test and luckily was able to get a higher than average score. It was the first time that I did not sleep for more than 24 hours. I felt like shit afterwards but it was better than failing on the test. Wait until you're really tired before you start using stuff like Caffeine and it'll keep you going. Don't worry about your GPA if you're trying to get into law school. You can make up for a bad gpa with a good LSAT score. I know some lazy people who've gotten into good law schools with around 3.0 GPA but made up for it with great LSATs.

Writing is quite easy for me so I'd always turn in a final draft on rough draft peer review days lol. Then some dumbass would write a semi intelligent critique of it, and a week later I'd basically turn in the exact same thing as the final draft.

To my advisor's disapproval I'd write my outline last. :lol

Ok am I an idiot or are uni websites extremely complex, like a tangled web of info and links - never reaching an end.

Also how does class selection work? Do I just select a degree and fill in the blanks on class options when they allow it? How much freedom will I have, because while I want to do cop sci, I want to take as much philosophy and history as possible? How do double majors work? Was everyone as confused as I am when they were going to go into their first year as uni?

I can't find software engineering any were at UofH :'( Maybe its in the engineering courses and not comp sci...

Well I don't expect my ability to solve basic calculus and physics problems to get me a job. My resume does not say "Passed Calculus 1, 2, 3 and Linear Algebra and Differential Equations". I'm just feeling good about myself in knowing that I can still recall how to solve some of that stuff.
