He has left the republican party tonight, most see this as his first step to run as a independent for president.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg changed his party affiliation from Republican to unaffiliated Tuesday, a move that will surely increase speculation he is considering an independent White House bid.
But Bloomberg, who has repeatedly denied he is planning a run, said in a statement his future plans haven’t changed.
“Although my plans for the future haven’t changed, I believe this brings my affiliation into alignment with how I have led and will continue to lead our City,” he said.
While Bloomberg leans more to the left (despite being a now former republican) most "political analysts" and polls show he steals more from Republicans due to the party splits and poor morale.
Oh btw Bloomberg is a Jew. A unmarried jew. Thus his chances of winning are 0. But he will throw a wrench in this thing that will take down one party and let the other win.

Not happening assface
The public critique of the presidential contest could be part of an effort on Mr. Bloomberg's part to lay the groundwork for an independent presidential bid. However, he insisted yesterday that he plans to serve as mayor through 2009 and then return to private life.
"I'm not a candidate for president," Mr. Bloomberg said. "My next career will be in philanthropy. I've done the government thing."
If he did enter the race, he would immediately be the best presidential candidate.

the only reason to do this is for 2008. And Tim Russert the lead political guy for NBC News says Bloomberg people tell him he is considering it. If it's two polarizing candidates (say hillary and rudy) he'll get in and is taking steps to prepare for it.
He IS taking steps, there is no reason otherwise to do this.

How bout this. . .if Bloomberg enters the presidential election, I will let Father Mike fuck me in the ass?
If he were considering it, he wouldn't be giving it flat out denials, not to mention it's kind of late to jump into the race.

it's not late at all. It's primaries, if he gets in his aids say it will be feb-march 2008. Independents don't deal with primaries.
He has to raise no money at all. It's already known he is willing to spend a billion of his own dollars if he gets in.

Romney wins in 2008. Quote me

For white man: If you do not know this is a political site partially owned by the Washington Post and NBC News and have hosted a democratic presidentially debate themselves so yeah they know their stuff:

Some of Bloomberg's friends, however, take that denial with a wink.
"He certainly hasn't formally launched the campaign, but he's made every intelligent move that will put him in position to launch a campaign next year," said the New York P.R. titan Howard Rubenstein, a Bloomberg friend who also represents the mayor's private company.
"He's positioning himself so he can say yes or no. And he's doing a brilliant job of denying that he's running and yet creating the impression that he is."
He isn't running yet but he is taking steps to potentially run, there is no way to not see that.
