Title: Bore Secret Santa 2011: SIGNUPS CLOSED. START BUYING STUFF.

READ THIS OP IN ITS ENTIRETY BEFORE SIGNING UP OR POSTING IN THIS THREAD

Welcome, everyone, to the SIXTH ANNUAL EVILBORE SECRET SANTA! 

Here are the brief rules. If you can't comply with these, don't sign up.

* ONLY SIGN UP IF YOU ARE ACTUALLY GOING TO PARTICIPATE. Demi will hopefully ban your ass forever if you flake off on sending a gift. If you have to back out for some substantially important reason PLEASE let me know well before Christmas.
* There's no need to blow a whole bunch of money on your gift (unless you really want to). $25-$30 USD excluding shipping is the accepted standard, if you are worried about what you should spend.
* Don't send anything dangerous that could get you or the recipient in trouble with the law (hazardous or illicit materials, e.g. alcohol, drugs). That should be obvious.
* Try to wrap the gift up. What's the fun in getting a gift if you can't unwrap it? If you're buying online, places like Amazon have a gift wrap option that is pretty cheap.
* Please try to send the package so it will arrive on or before Christmas. There will be a grace period for late packages, since it's a very busy mail time.

Okay! If you've read all of that and decided you still want to participate, here's what you need to do:

1. PM (Private Message) me with your shipping address. Include your real, full name, otherwise people can run into problems at the post office. NO P.O. boxes unless they can accept packages.

2. Post in this thread with the following info:
a) Where do you live?
b) Will you ship internationally? (flexibility on this is appreciated, we have a lot of international members)
c) Anything in particular that you want? (include game systems, clothes size, and any other relevant info)

-> Make sure you do BOTH steps 1 and 2 before proceeding! If you do not do BOTH steps you will not be registered! <-

3. The cut-off date is November 5th. On the 6th I'll send you your recipient's user name and shipping address.

4. Now that you know who you're buying for, get shopping! Try to send out your gift with plenty of time for it to get there on or before Christmas Day.


Other things:

- If you want, you can include your name/username on the gift to your recipient. I will eventually post a list of who was matched up with who, so if you want to remain anonymous until then, that's okay too.
- Keep the gifts age-appropriate, no sending porn to minors.
- Keep in mind that international shipping can sometimes be costly depending on how much the package weighs. If you're short on cash this holiday season, keep your international packages light.
- You can usually calculate shipping depending on weight by either calling your local post office and asking, or using a shipping calculator on your country's postal service website.

3) Nothing fancy. I like to read (fantasy bookz), play PC games. A reason to dust off my DS wouldn't be bad

In terms of DS games, I like games like Fire Emblem; I've never played the DS version of FE. The only DS games I've had were Pokemon, NSMB, Mario Kart and Brain Training.

In terms of books, I do need to start the Malazan books to troll MAF. Also uh, the first book in the First Law Trilogy sounds interesting and is cheap

I also need to send White Man something, so I'll be asking MAF/Drinky for some tips.

I tend to like retro games, indie games and Japanese-made titles. Also, interesting electronic music CDs, artbooks, and random stuff for my condo would be good.

My PS3 collection is LA Snore, LBP1 (thanks, Borys!), Batman AA, and inFamous 1. Pretty tiny, so adding to it would be great. Xbox games, you can scope my gamertag and see what I like, and which ones I play the most.

yep, I'm in, again! Love Bore SS. This will be my fifth one! I didn't participate in the '06 one as I was a forum noob at the time.

3) I like all kinds of shit. Got a major hard-on for vidya but I like t-shirts, knick knacks and food too. Got a PSP, DS, hacked wii. A steam game for mac would be nice?! I'm always happy to receive any gifts and as they say, "it's the thought that counts"

Would love to participate but the fees of the dominican postal service are ridiculous, like 20 bucks for 1-5 pounds  to the US :-\ no way I can afford that in collage inscription month, maybe next year when I get another raise.

3. Don't need any game software.  DVDs are nice, I can play either Region 1 or Region 2.  Local candy/junk food is also a great option!  Really though, almost anything would be fine.

I'm going to be on vacation during the winter holidays, so be careful with dates!  If you get me, you'll have to send it either a few weeks before or a few weeks after Christmas, if it arrives while I'm gone there's a chance it'll be sent back since I'll be away for a few weeks!

I collect coffee mugs from unique places.  I also really dig local t-shirts (I wear a 2xl).  Steam gifts are always appreciated.  If you can think of anything else that is cool and unique to your area (like a particular kind of liquor, coffee, random item is produced there) then I would love that too!

What year was this? Let me check the old SS sheets when I get home to see if I can find out who it was.

I started doing Bore Secret Santa in 2009 and you didn't sign up in 2009 or 2010. Cloudwalking was in charge in 2007 and 2008, so you should check with her if you want to know who ripped you off.

Yeah it was back when cloud was running the gift exchange.  The poster that got me is long gone though.  I think she was banned for another unrelated incident.   :P

I tend to gravitate towards books i've enjoyed or anything else that i find interesting in the hopes that they also find it interesting.

it's like they took all the things dumb girls think about and made them into characters, some of the guys look like girls so I get confused. Also while it's clearly aimed at western audiences it still has a lot of weird Japanese style thrown in whenever a character is emoting. I told a friend today it's like taking something in english and translating it into Japanese and then translating that back into English.

I open the box expecting soap because I ordered soap to be delivered from amazon today but this box was REALLY BIG so I was thinking "oh shit, I ordered the wrong soap" and then I see GIANT KIDNAPPING BAG :O

Glad you like them! I was really worried about getting you a game but I knew you were a league fan.  I get all those promos at work so I thought I'd throw in some PAL goodness rather than the Uncharteds/Infamous etc... As I mentioned on twitter I had a copy of Singstar Wiggles lying around somewhere but couldn't find it in time.

Tim Tams don't get you laid here sadly, they're $2 a packet most of the time. Hope you enjoy the double coat ones, they're my favourite. There's a bunch of other flavours too like wild berries and toffes etc but the classic ones are the best.

I was your secret santa. I thought I had put my name on one of the notes, but I had SUCH a nightmare using Amazon for some reason, my initial line-up of shit was much more exciting, but so much good shit on Amazon is sold by some other vendor, and I could only find out wether or not shit would ship to Canada AFTER I had written all the notes etc etc etc. (which involved lots of re-writing notes and so-on) It took me an hour to checkout the goods. NEVER USING AMAZON AGAIN.

You were gonna get Slap Shot 2 starring Steven Baldwin and Dragons Lair DS port, but hopefully you enjoy this stuff to some extent.

Yes, you put your real name on the note, that's why I mentioned I had a good idea who it was from (I had mailed you something eons ago, and I was quite sure the names were one and the same) just wanted to be 100% sure before I started naming names and /or thanking the wrong person, as I am an old man with an atrocious memory. So, I have 2 packages waiting for me at home today. Are they safe for my girlfriend to open? She is watching some kids right now.  One is from Canada and one is from Maryland, so I dont know if both are secret santa related or not but I feel like they would be.

The set of 4 is all u need for 1 character, depending on the system.  But having extras for other players is really awesome. Demi, I'll work on that, lol. Ill also eventually get pics up for u guys, bout to go to a new years party.
