Has anyone read anything of his?  I started The Gold Bug Variations last night and was just wondering.

I read Galatea 2.0 back in the day. I enjoyed it, but it ended up spending too much time moping around college feeling pitiable and not enough heuristic AIs violating the Turing test.

I own both Goldbug Variations and Three Farmers on their Way to a Dance, but have never gotten more than about 100 pages into either. I think I respect him as an author but find it difficult to enjoy him.
