okay... i'm a big geometry wars fanboy. if you're on my 360 friends list you should know that (all 12 achievements and 4 million score). now that it's out of the way, super stardust HD > geometry wars.
here are a few reasons i think why.
*
selectable, upgradable weapons - very raiden-like where upgrades change according to their duration on on the field (and the game actually tells you how much % each weapon is upgraded)
*
weapons are situational - according to what type of rocks or enemies you're shooting, there is an optimal choice of weapon to help you finish the job off.
*
better graphics - wow. that's all i have to say.
*
soundtrack rocks - if you're into electronic music, it's bangin'
*
boss battles - probably a weak point of the game (some bosses are repeated), but a nice inclusion nonetheless
*
more enemy variety (they actually fire back at you)
*
boost ability (break through tough situations)
*
score is not only calculated by # of baddies shot, but by gathering physical points on the field*
multiple ways to gain a high score*
multiple environments - 5 planets to choose from, each with their own set of baddies
the game very rich and deep for an arcade robotron style shooter. i've downloaded all the geo wars style games on both the 360 and PS3, and i've been waiting for a successor to it... SSHD is it. period. geo wars 2 better be some fantastic shit because it just got owned.
if anyone wants to battle on score, add me to your PSN friends list (gt: hypoetical). i made it in the top 100 w/ a 15 million score last night
