Naming/ taking care of my new plants?

So my mom got be a bamboo tree and a bonsai tree today.  The bamboo seems simple enough but how should I trim the bonsai?  does anyone else have one?

Naming it, I'm thinking of calling the bamboo Mups because it looks tall and strong but lonely and the bonsai Himu because it's short and growing outwards

Naming your plants after evilbore personalities is perhaps the biggest "holy shit you need some or pussy (or asshole, as the case may be) moment" I've ever heard.

I was kind of joking about that part.  The this thread was meant more to be about how to trim and take care of bonsai trees.
