lotsa things don't comport with our fundamentally animal natures, fu. for example, i am very jealous of tv'cs new tablet pc. were i an animal, i would knife him in his office and claim it as my own. i would also attack and rape any female i saw i order to ensure the maximum continuation of my genetic legacy, and i would challenge any male i encounter to a fight to the death in order to ensure that he never continues his own legacy on my turf.
fortunately, i am a human, and able to think in terms far more broad and useful than the mere satiation of animal urges, and have in fact developed deep preferences that go against those urges because i have evolved the capacity to do so. i have no need or desire to breed outside of my wife, and i have a great deal of things that aren't related to sex and the mating game to keep me very, very occupied, including a challenging job, multiple hobbies, and this stupid-ass internet.
your pseudo-rationalization of your polyamorous lifestyle is purely your own, and you're hardly challenging anyone with your insistence. no-one is denying that people have polyamorous urges, or that one should deny them if they do; you're simply refusing to acknowledge that some of us DON'T have those urges or have sublimated them in favor of stronger long-term needs and desires. if it's come down to this level of personal subjectivity, you're looking for lifestyle validation, not discussion.
