Author Topic: I will watch this movie (Read 4671 times)

Even the folks who read the shitty script will tell you a good amount of changes have been instituted and the final result is a highly enjoyable film. I think walking into the theater with low expectations will only help your experience. Virtually all the screenings and reviews have been universally positive - I can't think how Bay will botch up robots fighting robots. And from the sound of it, he didn't.

Leaked scripts mean little to me. The original Spider-Man script was atrocious and when it was first reviewed, everyone shat their pants. Raimi trimmed it down to something watchable and made a decent popcorn flick out of it. I expected the same.

What changes have been instituted? The only one I know of is "Energon Cube" being changed to "All-Spark." Every single thing I've seen in every single trailer, preview, making-of, has been exactly like the script.

I'm still going to go see it when it opens here next month, but my anticipation level is very, very low.

I'm just going from NeoGAF folks who read the script and said they've made changes and that the final product is a lot better than expected. Looks like ID4 with robots - I'm sold.

Uh, I never told anyone to buy Spidey 3. In fact, I said I probably wouldn't buy it.

Call me when you actually watch any of these films, by the way. It's one thing to be called out by Ichirou, who has paid his moneys to see 'em, but not by some cranky, lecherous bum that hasn't seen a motion picture since they stopped using hand cranks!

Why? That place was one of the most vocal critics of the "Bayformers" since pre-production and a good lot have turned around since the release of the film. I don't think I've read one person on there who has seen the film that flat out hates it. Hollywood Reporter and Variety both gave it high marks and most of the screenings listed on a number of sites, including RT, have been positive.

Again, like Fantastic Four, I think walking in with low expectations will only help!

Pirates was abysmal and the only redeeming qualities to Spider-Man 3 seemed to be for Raimi fans only, so I can easily see why you disliked both flicks. Die Hard 4 is a fun action flick, but it's not a Die Hard flick. I want to see Ratatouille, but I don't like to watch children's films in theaters because I hate children. The buzz on that is pretty crazy, though.

Well, to be honest (and I don't care who blasts me for this), I walked into Spidey 3 with zero expectations and was thoroughly entertained and honestly feel it might be the most entertaining in the franchise (once the inevitable director's cut is released which ties up the loose ends in Sandman's storyline), so hopefully I'll walk into TF with zero expectations and walk out having had a blast...I do love giant robots.

It was decent, but nothing to write home about. The thirty minute action sequence is highly overrated and migraine inducing to say the least.
