I wonder how long they'll wait to show monster in the actual film? Not seeing it for the first hour or so could really build up the suspense.

Dude, a hysterical guy is running down the street as as the Statue of Liberty head comes crashing down - hardly what I'd bank on being accurate eyewitness testimony.

Well, from what little AICN dug up, they are working on some creature effects (internally referred to as "The Parasite"), so I imagine we'll see something.

I think it's smart.  They generated a lot of goodwill with this teaser release and if they continue with this smart viral campaign into Blair Witch-style marketing, they'll have all of early winter to themselves.

Monster movies in the vein of Godzilla (even to a certain extent, Jaws) is a under-used genre.
