The movie itself is just strange, with hysterical moments few and far between.  Which is sad, because it seems like they blew their wad within the first opening minutes with this awesome intro:

The film is R-rated, so they got to put content that would not otherwise be in the show.  You get the feeling that if you took the best bits from the movie, you could condense it down to like fifteen minutes and it'd be funny.  Which pretty much confirms that the characters are only funny, and even then it's been hit or miss for a long time, in fifteen minute increments.

Yeah.  There's a lot of just strange, weird stuff in here.  I don't know, it feels like one huge meta-joke.  Like they made it so weird and inane just to be like, "Haha, they let us make a movie! This is so stupid!"

The best part of the flick is this alien watermelon that travels in a spaceship that is a hollowed watermelon somehow powered by Neil Peart from Rush.

Would the film in any way make for a good drinking game?

If yes, I will absolutely buy this for the next MAN NIGHT with the buddies, while our wives and girlfriends have VAGINA NIGHT, as they like to call it.

There's no dialogue, there's very little plot, and it is shot in an eye-catching manner.  It's also got a killer soundtrack, so it's basically a 90 minute, really strange music video.  It works.

It works wellas a "silent" movie because there are all sorts of interpretations you can put on it.  It thematically comes across as rather Cronenbergian.  Technology and flesh merging, signifying how technology ultimately dehumanizes society.

The sequel, in contrast, sucks.  It is a sort of remake of the original, shot in color, with a normal plot.
