Human History is humbling.

There was this great program about the rise of Homo-Sapiens on The Discovery Channel last week and ever sense I have been fascinated by the subject.

Modern humans appeared about 130,000 years ago and civilization didn't start until 10,000 years ago. That means that humans wandered around the earth for 120,000 years before deciding to grow crops and raise animals. Can you imagine living in a clan and possibly never seeing anyone outside your clan for your entire life? It's must have been very strange. And then there is evidence that homo-sapians met neanderthal and Cro-Magnon man. That must have been very exciting! To meet a whole other kind of being that is similar but not human.

What about the first human to discover fire or the wheel? The poor guy probably didn't even know that what he was doing would change the course of human history forever. He just wanted to survive.

So it took 120,000 years for mankind to settle down and then another 10,000 years to get to where we are now. Humans are doing such amazing things. We walked on the moon, which is insane to think about! Just 2000 years ago, people were still fighting with spears.

It's fascinating!

Groo should know, he was there.

Also, what about the guy who invented the fiery wheel? He doesn't get nearly enough cred.
