It's pretty bad that Sony won with a JACK TRETTON led conference.
Anyways, to continue the trend:
Microsoft: "We've got the shit this year fuckers, and we have bigger market share for the moment. Buy this shit now."
Nintendo: "We've got something for everyone, but outside of some release dates not much to see here folks. Oh yeah, more women and old people play Wii."
Sony: "Here's HOME. Here's Killzone 2. Here's Infamous. Here's some other kickass games. Here's Kojima. Here's MGS4 (game of 2008 nominee predicted easily). Here's what we can do, which no one else can. Now PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD BUY OUR SHIT."
All three conferences were decent, with Sony's being the clear winner. I would have to place Nintendo in last, even though it was still amusing, and I got my much needed release dates, but it was probably in last place. Seriously, while Microsoft had it's boring points, what really was boring was Iwata going on for like 15 minutes about Nintendo's changing focus. Jesus, we know this for fuck's sake.
Sony basically made me happy I purchased a PS3. This is definitely what they needed to do, and hopefully with the price drop they will regain some market share this gen. I will say this once more: they've got the system to do it. They have the capabilities to fucking own everyone, they just need the customers. PS3's are more dependable and make 360's looks like shit in about every category except online and (which is rapidly changing with shit like Killzone 2 looking pretty good and Infamous coming out of nowhere) desired exclusives.
It will be interesting to see where we are standing this time next year.
