Why did none of you assholes tell me this?  They fixed Trix!

In 1992 Trix replaced the original round ball shape with fruit-shaped pieces. Four new fruit shapes and colors were added over the years: Grapity purple (1980-1995), Lime green (1991), Wildberry blue (1998-2006), and Watermelon (1999). In 1995, the cereal pieces were given a brighter and more colorful look. It should be noted, however, that the different "fruits" in the cereal between 1992 and 2006 all share the same flavor. Recently in 2007 Trix has replaced their fruit shaped pieced with the original round ball shape. [1]

It looked and tasted just like classic Trix, pre-1992. A small victory has been won. I did indeed take the day off to celebrate, just as any self-made cereal-lovin’ individual should.

My dad's a diabetic so I grew up on skim milk, pretty much. Anything else is too thick and yucky for me. Kinda like regular soda. Too rich.

it TASTES like classic trix too? the palate-lacerating fruit shapes were bad enough, but trix really died for me when they went to a faintly peanut buttery flavor. the old tangy spheres were great -- you could eat them out of the box, and if you sucked on them they would implode. i'm going to the supermarket right now.

I think that ad campaign misjudged the audience's sympathies as badly as anything that comes to mind, including the current Justin Long Mac commercials.

Those little kids were such fucking assholes.  All day in elementary school we were pounded in the heads and asses about the virtues of sharing, but CAPITALISM TOLD US OTHERWISE.  I think Trix commercials have more to do with the rise of mainstream Randianism than a thousand dotcom booms.

I remember there was one ad campaign where they ran a voting contest to let the viewers choose the ending (to be shown at a later date) - would the rabbit get the Trix, or would the kids get it?  I believe the rabbit won by an OVERWHELMING majority.
