This new E3 kind of sucks - it's all conference hype

Although the press conferences have been the rage in recent years due to the manufacturers trying to lob bombs at one another and wind up journalists in a feeding frenzy with surprise announcements, there was always surprising floor coverage day-to-day and usually a last minute sneak peak at something behind closed doors.  There really seems to be none of that this year around, at least from what I can see.  Everyone shot their wad before hand and as the press plays all these previously announced games, it's like we're going through the motions.

The last "real" E3 was already more toned down than ever.  Much of the party atmosphere were already gone because of the previous year's complaints about noise and scantily clad women.  And then this year's E3 was nothing but a bunch of videos playing on a big screen.  The problem with the gaming world is that the business side has gotten too powerful.  E3 should be run by people that love games like Hideo Kojima and not by executives that don't know shit about games.

Gaming is dying and being replaced by something hollow and sinister courtesy of Nintendo and the suits at Sony and MS - sort of like a creepier version of The Body Snatchers.

About the only thing I won't take pictures of is booth babes.  That just verges way too far into "creepy old Japanese man" syndrome for me (two years running I've gone to TGS and I always see middle-aged, balding asian men with cameras taking pictures of the booth babes).  Perhaps I'll take pictures of the balding asian men?  That would look pretty unfavorable.

No, I require pictures of games that paint Japanese culture in an unfavorable light.  It shouldn't be a hard request to honor.
