Here's my question, I've enver waited in line, except for Black Friday - I was stupid and came an hour early thinking I showed everyone up, and the line was around the store (Best Buy).
My question is this: when do lines become lines, and when is it okay to get the free pass to hold your place in line? And what is the limit to this madness? Lets be real here, buying a PS3 launch day for $600 and flipping it on ebay for over a grand is a lot of fucking money to make for just standing around several hours. What I don't understand is when the line TECHNICALLY starts, and when you should get your placeholder in line and be able to pick it up later. Is it fair to give people waiting in line a free pass to leave, when you would wait there all night? Couldn't you just walk in a day before and stand there and say 'im in line, give me a placeholder'. Then couldn't a guy before do it two days before, a week, a month .. basically becoming a reservation?
I'm just wondering what the deal is with stuff like this. And is there a limit on how many you can buy? I imagine most places only allow one buy, but you know some get away with buying like 10 and making a shitload. I don't understand what stores do about this shit, most people know they intend to sell it, most are out there to make money easy (who isn't?). I just wanna know how this shit works
