Oh, and for reserves - every store is supposed to hit minimum of 10% (meaning one out of every ten customers should pre-order). Again, some folks have this philosophy of beating a customer into the ground and making him pre-order useless shit (Madden wtf?). I only tell folks to pre-order portable titles and limited releases, like Persona 3 (before this it was Odin Sphere). If I pitch a big title, like Madden or Halo, it's to a person that is likely buying something related (Halo faceplate or NCAA) and my goal is to let them know they can pick it up here a day or two later instead of waiting in line at midnight at Wal-Mart or some fucking flea circus.
If someone doesn't want to pre-order something right away, don't harass him - it's distinguished mentally-challenged. You want people to come in and drop $5 because they like the ease of picking up stuff at a place they're comfortable with and can depend on the staff. If someone is unsure about a title, I usually tell 'em to check it on XBL or PSN or GameTrailers and see if they like it first. A lot of times, that person will come back.
