From only playing Castlevania 4 and loving it, is SOTN worth like 10 bucks guys?

It's just a silly question. Do you realize how many people GUSH over this game? It just goes without saying, that if you have not played SotN you should at least try it, whether you may like it or not.

It's like asking if you should play um...I don't know, Super Metroid or something. It's just something everyone will say yes to.

How the fuck did you miss out on practically the entire Castlevania series?  You really wouldn't be so bad off just playing through all of them, sans the 3D ones and maybe Simon's Quest.

Concerning SotN, it probably isn't deserving of the hype it gets, but it's a pretty damn good game nonetheless.

I think SotN deserves the hype. The upside down castle sucks ass, but it deserves the hype. The recent CV's where people say IT'S BETTER THAN SOTN every single new entry? THOSE don't deserve the hype. Unless they're Portrait of Ruin. :bow

SotN is the best Castlevania title.

I second this. Although I do think Portrait of Ruin is almost on Par with this game.

Now lets post awesome quotes from SotN:

You claim to love the darkness, now dwell there for all eter-nity  (iirc)

SotN is the best Castlevania title.

2nd best on a console, the first best is currently getting a remake on the PSP.

No spin zone.

Fuck yeah, best Metroidvania and the second best CV ever (first being of course Rondo - a perfect bridge between Classicvania and Metroidvania). It's easily worth the $10.

Super Metroid > SOTN
They're kind of the same game except that one has sci-fi trappings while the other is ohmigawth.

There is a "morning star" and a few other whip like weapons.

Super Metroid is indeed better than SOTN.  Most of the people that think otherwise are looking at the games with a very superficial way.

I won´t even botter explaining the differences, though, because I know people will call me an "Elitist" taco.

Even though they describe themselves as "Elitists" as an excuse to insult WiiFit. Not that I like that "game", just saying.

Its like this....

CastleVania (MSX) >>>> CastleVania (NES) >>>>>> Super CastleVania 4 >>>>> CastleVania Rondo of Blood (TG16) >>>>>> CastleVania SOTN >>>>> CastleVania: LOI >>>>> CastleVania: Legacy of Darkness (N64) >>>>>> CastleVania: Curse of Darkness

The handheld Nintendo game castlevanias are the worst in the seriese - they are ALL like watered down versions of Symphony of the Night.

Beat it.

Holy shit good game total.

Eh I didn't think the soundtrack trumps Castlevania 4 - but it def had some great tunes.  I like the one where you first come in, and the main them when you go in caves in the inverted castle.

I dunno why Castlevania 4 was just wayy more catchy.

Isn't the ending where Maria Richter and Alucard talk on the ledge after the castle goes down?  And Alucard says they won't meet again.
