I remember when Zelda 64 launched - I WAS IN LINE at 7:00 PM that night at EB to pick up my gold copy - there was a little kid there dressed like link with a little bow...his mom had the body of gannon butwas dressed as zelda....

reflecting back what kind of kreepy mom/son roleplay is that?...."Rescue me link!"

I'm willing to bet that out of all those people dressing up like wizards, at least ONE of them will make a love connection with a fellow nerdlinger and end up going home and making sweet, sweet Magik together.

corny, do you ever defend gaffers, too, just for consistency's sake? or do you pick and choose which acts of internet elitism make your rectum clench into a little knot of fractious resentment?

also, are you embarrassed when you drink at home, alone? :'(

I don't read GAf at all so I really don't know what's going on over there. I just think it's kinda weak to sit there and make fun of other people doing what they enjoy when the person making fun of them seems to live in a bubble that only you and TVC can inhibit.

"Elitism" of any sort makes me cringe though, especially when the people being elite don't really have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.

cornelius, you've drank at home alone on MANY an occasion, as have i. have you ever dressed up as a wizard and flew to london to pick up the latest in your favorite book series? or rather, are you just being snarky out of your dislike of maf, afraid that he might actually dare to presume himself better than other people -- would you rather keep him pigeonholed in your head as some hypocritical internet jerkoff? man, you just can NOT pick your battles, can you!

judging other people is one of life's greatest joys, for sure! even YOU are doing it, corny, by judging maf unworthy of making such distinctions because he arbitrarily drinks at home alone (although he often does it with friends, but whatevs, right).

I dont think I said anything about WoW in this thread, or compared my last two days to theirs. In fact all I said in this thread that skipping work to do the things they are doing is lame. I have never done so, and by my value judgement I feel I am better than them. You can't change that no matter how many videos of you chugging clamato you post to the intarwebs.

Hey now.  I'm all for ridicule of bad taste in art and entertainment, and flaming the willfully ignorant when they spout off about social issues, but I don't begrudge anyone enthusiasm for their chosen hobbies.

I'd have much less of a problem with Willco dressing up like Bumblebee for the Transformers premier than I have with him giving it a B- on an allegedly objective scale.

Dude, you act like I got in my car, drove to London, and ran them all over. I'm just saying it's embarrassing to see people acting so fanatical over a book. Kids probably get enough shit for reading as it is, and people like this are not going to help. Just giving more ammo to the knuckle dragging dickheads.
