it's good! the quests get a bit repetitive, but the character and party customization options make up for it.

Reid makes me lol, he's like some retardo 16-bit character stuck in a game with modern characters that are intelligent

Yeah it's good. Quests are pretty boring and samey. Find me a Potato!

haha yeah, but unlike Valhalla Knights I get the option to port back to town a lot, and the menu driven overworld is really slick.

He's 32-bit. :(

Yeah, I'm loving the game so far.  What kinda characters did you folks make?

I've been looking at the equipment you can get by exchanging grade.  Pure homojapuality - cat ears, bunny ears, swimsuits, schoolgirl outfits...  :-\

More games need to be made like this.

Almost like WoW but with a more focused overworld (for a good singleplayer experience) and loads of NPC that you can recruit (that will fend for themselves in your party). Offline MMO Stylee :bow

I particularly like the item creation stuff (though, is not as complicated or deep). Hopefully this is done for the PS3 or 360.

Enemy drops also are way too frequent. Its a great way to pass the time at work though.

It's my bedtime game, so the lack of challenge is somewhat appreciated.  It's just that the difficulty level has it teetering on the edge of being REALLY good.

Yeah its definately not made to challenge you, unless of course you start out as a mage type character which is at the start of the game really freaking weak without party members to keep things from hitting you and interrupting your spell casting. I mean some of the later spells are kinda nuts.

Honestly tho this comes down to the same ol how many games do you actually finish argument. I dont mean you specifically, I mean the ROYAL you ;-). I mean I have finished my share of games lately but a really frustrating title can have me blocked for a few days then I never touch it again.

Yow, really enjoying this game so far...just wish the equipment you got for your main character looked a little nicer.

I haven't finished Super Robot Taisen OG2 yet, and I may not finish it for a while at this rate, since I'm using my PSP a lot more (I'm actually on the final mission in OG2 but I feel overwhelmed by the amount of bosses in the stage so I'm afraid to even start it for fear of more frustration).

This game kills so much time, its dangerous.

I love the simplicity of the Item Creation system. One thing I hate about the game is the camera...argh.

I don't like the camera either.  And I don't like that they replaced Lloyd's voice actor from Symphonia with the dude who voices Fry in Futurama.

One hopes that this game will sell well enough that Namco Bandai will consider porting Tales of Destiny 2 (NOT Eternia, but the actual Destiny 2 which was never released in the US) here.

Is it better than Valkyrie Profile or FF3 on the DS?  I'll like to have a good portable RPG but I haven't got one yet.  I've only had my DS&PSP for a month.

It's better than VP in the sense that VP is not a great port (although a better game), and it's better than FFIII in the sense that it's better than FFIII.

The only thing I'm worried about is that Tales' graphics looks kinda crappy in the screenshots.  I'm not a big fan of PSX quality graphics.  Does it look better in motion?

It does look better in motion but you'll be seeing lots of the same vistas over and over again. You'll have to traverse back to the same two spots in the beginning. In the towns, you just choose where you want to go from a list, then interact within that place.

The dungeon layouts are pretty straightfoward and are divided into levels. Each level containing even stronger enemies.

Sounds a lot like Dragon Quest 8, aka most boring RPG I've played in the last 5 years.  No thanks.

I like it for the combat (action based, obviously being a Tales game), the loot and Item Creation system. Definitely a perk to have something like this, which I've only really played on PCs and Consoles, as a handheld game :D . Do shit at work, push the wake mode slider on the PSP up, grind/loot/dungeon crawl then back to work in an instant.

at first i thought the combat was garbage, but after learning how to block properly and time spell casting correctly i've been able to survive most of the dungeons.  i think i'm liking this better than etrian odyssey.  it's simpler and very pick up and play.  thank god for being able to warp back to town after quests and getting a full heal.  i hated having to pay an arm and a leg on E.O. just to get my party back in full health.

jump slash and downward thrust = best physical attack in the game

tell me about it, i bought the cotton hat that makes me look like a children's magician dropout.  wtf is up with the costumes.  all the mage gear borders on cross-dressing.

could someone explain how unison works?  do both characters have to be manually controlled?  i've been digging the semi-auto setup

I was confused with it at first.

I think when you Overdrive Gauge fills up, your able to use a Unison Attack which is sort of like a Limit Break

My character's a girl, so that's not a problem for me.  I wonder how different the equipment looks depending on whether your character's a dude or a girl.

All the weapons and armor you can exchange for GP look horrible. Its like, your sacrificing pure stat gains just so you can ear a goofy suit or other article of clothing.

I also wished they had added a subtle touch when fusing equipment with Jewels. Like having an afterglow, or some type of glow. Would have been cool.

I'm pretty sure you can make the weird stuff you get with grade strong by reforging.
