The big game for PS3 this holiday season is GTA IV - duh. Nobody is going to buy Uncharted or Heavenly Sword outside of the hardcore market.

PS3 will probably be pushing Uncharted or Heavenly Sword. If GT Prologue is a retail game I can see them pushing that at a lower price. Sony does not have a big name old IP this christmas...which is kind of strange, but I guess not really all that strange when you consider they flush their IP catalog every gen. Only the strong survive!

That doesn't make it directed towards the hardcore market. When I think of hardcore market, I think of hardcore games. HS looks completely like something a casual can easily get into.

lair wil bomb i think. it has nothing going for it except its graphics and you need an hdtv to really appreciate those.

No question. I think LAIR will do okay with the REALLY hardcore cause it's something to buy. It looks really like it might be fun to just fly around. The actual game is probably pants.

Why are you getting GTAIV for ps3? It'll have extra content on the 360. Even if I had a ps3 and a 360, I would just get the 360 version.

there were appearently pics from the ps3 version in that german mag that had a special on it. anyway, sony wanted to have a trailer for gtaiv in e3 their reel so they sent r* a mail to ask them 'sup with that. r* never responded nor sent back anything... (true story)

My 360 died on me and I'm thinking about getting it on the PS3, out of SPITE!

I don't know, we'll see how the dice rolls. I still have to sound my babeh into MS $:-\$ . I also think I'll be more comfortable with the Six Axis/Dual Shock controls but obviously, if the extra content is pretty big...then theres no way I can avoid not getting the 360 version.

the sixaxis/ds whatever is my favourite joystick. the only thing that bothered me was that there was a pretty small deadzone between the sticks but appearently they fixed that.

I'll probably get GTA on 360 cause it's PROBABLY gonna be better performing or whatever, but I probably won't buy the extra content. I don't usually fork over that kind of money for microtranzacshuns.

Space between the stick? Or like different deadzone?

They increased the resolution of the sticks from 8-bit to 10-bit and I think they are generally more responsive. I <3 the sixaxis design. Symmetry is how it should be; fuck ugly people.

I just don't see ps3 doing terribly well, people have to shop for themselves and for others, and there is a fuckton of software out there, and with gta being on 360 it just puts another dent into the ps3

Hah. I told her to give it a try, figuring she'd probably like it. About five minutes later, she was like, "this is stupid, I don't want to read shit, I want to play." And then, when she got to play, she was like "this is really lame, where's New Super Mario Bros. at?" I'm so glad she hates it as much as I do.

She also detests anything in 3D, and gives me major shit (teasing done in a loving manner) whenever I'm playing an RPG. Her critique of the Shin Megami Tensei games is a riot, as she does a good job recreating the butt rock guitar music, and even has an interpretive dance describing the battle system. I can't do it justice, but it's along the lines of "walk walk walk walk fight! [insert guitar butt rock] attack attack attack win walk walk walk walk walk fight! [insert guitar butt rock] attack attack attack win walk walk walk... fucking drives me insane when I'm in the kitchen and I can hear you playing those things."

No joke. I'd rather play ET than play Animal Crossing. And I seriously tried to like AC-- played both the GC and DS versions...the DS one extensively, and I endured the teasing of my friends!
