So July is just about over. I know MAF posts something similar in the Hot Dog Bar, but THIS. IS. GAMING FORUM. WUT DID U BUY

From this week:

-Ikkitousen: Shining Dragon (PS2) w/bonus perverted 3D picture
-KOF Maximum Impact Regulation A (PS2)
-Minna No Golf 5 (PS3) w/bonus golf tees
-Wangan Midnight (PS3)

From earlier this month:

-Rockman ZX Advent (DS)
-Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (Xbox)(Not Pictured)
-Guilty Gear XX #Reload (Xbox)(Not Pictured)

I wasn't planning on buying Wangan Midnight, but they had a demo in the store, and it played like a much faster, arcadey version of the Shutokou Battle/Tokyo Xtreme Racer games, which sold me.

I have a huge feeling Ikkitousen is going to be fucking awful, but since it's so new, if I sell it back in the next day or so, I'll get a large chunk of cash back.

Ummm... a relatively quiet month for me on the gaming side of things, as I opted to spend my cash on booze, food, taxis, partying etc. this month. I did just grab a hot swag of PS2 goodness that I actaully made a thread about though:

Outrun 2006
Yakuza
Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter

so that lot should keep me going for a while hopefully. Im also playing Gradius V to supplement those titles so Im gonna feel

as a result.

I haven't played any of these yet. Still playing Yoshi's Island DS, although I'm about to beat it and I don't really see myself going back to collect red coins and stuff at the moment.

nearly done playing through it again on realistic. only played multiplayer once (which was awesome) but considering that I had the multiplayer demo for 6 months, I'll probably be busy this weekend.

I wasn't expecting much out of Ikkitousen, and kept asking myself why I even bought it today, but wow...I have to hand it to Marvelous Interactive. They sure know how to make crap!

Ikkitousen is a single player-only beat-em-up game, with awful graphics and below average game play. Basically, you choose a girl, then go to various generic anime locations such as "outside the school" and "on the school rooftop" (exciting, right?) and effortlessly beat up "waves" of generic enemies (other schoolgirls to start). There's only around 5-6 enemies on screen at a time, yet they always fade in and out like enemies in Dynasty Warriors, despite the first generation-looking graphics and tiny playfields. You then take on a boss character after a few waves of enemies.

Controls are like this: Square and triangle are light and heavy attack. R1 is block. CIrcle is a rage mode that lets you do a grab-style "super" or hit harder briefly. That's it. There seems to be no moves whatsoever, just punching, kicking, and some juggling. It's extremely boring.

I will be selling this game off ASAP. I highly recommend everyone forget this game even exists, unless you want to see what an absolute joke of a game looks like.

I ended up getting Guilty Gear XX Accent Core on Wii today, too. It's a great port, is (hopefully) bug free unlike the PS2 version, and has better sound quality than any GG game before it.

I think I'm going to take Ikkitoushit and Accent Core for PS2 and sell them both towards the new Gundam Wii game. It actually looks GOOD, as amazingly unbelievable as that may sound.

Wangan Midnight is pretty damn fun! I don't usually go for TXR games, but this game is a faster-paced, more arcade-style version of the series. It's got a slick interface that's all in English, plus pretty decent online play. I had lag in my first race, but instead of the game slowing down, everything ran at full speed, and the other drivers' cars looked like they were slower/faster. It made it very bearable. I think the game is going at 30fps, but it has some nice detail. I like the subtle speed lines that appear when you start going really fast, too. I even went so fast in one race that my car got airborne! I don't think I've ever seen that in a TXR game before.
