I doubt we'll see anything REAL until we figure out a more efficient power source. I mean nuclear is neat but iirc small nuclear packs cant do high power on demand can they?

I think the power situation in evangelion was the most realistic.

I'm going there next summer, but it's not even a real attraction, you just walk through it. I've actually seen a 1/1 scale Gundam before. They had one at the Bandai Museum (just the top half...actually, I'm 99% sure that they cannibalized the parts from the Bandai Museum 1/1 scale Gundam to build that).

They closed down Gundam: The Ride (which was the Gundam version of Star Tours) for this. Meh. $:-\$

They took the Gundam from the Bandai Musem and used it for Crisis. I heard there was an actual "ride" component of this attraction, though.

I remember seeing a video of Gundam: The Ride over at YouTube, looked kinda cool.

There is no ride component...you go to the hangar where the Gundam is and you do certain "tasks" (they did this at the Bandai Museum too, where you played a Zeon spy and were given a digital camera and had to take as many photos of secret Federation technology as you could in a certain amount of time...you were then graded depending on how much secret info you gathered and got points...if you did it enough times you could win some small prizes). That's all there is to it. Sad.

Well, that sucks. I had heard that a portion of the attraction had something to with Char attacking the base, and you had to hop into the Gundam and "fight back."

They were powered by an "umbilical cord" that was basically a huge extension cord. From that they had continuous power. They were able to disconnect the umbilical cable and go on battery power for something like five minutes.

Yeah, I remember that mission, the GMs from the ride show up...it was a pretty neat callback to the ride (actually, the PS2 games are all full of tiny Easter eggs like that) I actually have the LE figures of the GMs from Gundam: The Ride that come with the little space shuttle they protect.

Well, our genetic research is more advanced than Japan. By the time Japan has real Gundams, we should have superpowered mutants. I'm pretty sure that a bunch of X-men can handle gundams. X-men are pretty good at kicking giant robotic asses.

Playing videogames is actually good for your brain. Some research a couple of months ago show that surgeons who play videogames are better surgeons than those who don't. It might be why posters on gaming boards are so witty with their gifs, catch phrases,etc. Or so, they think.

I thought I was going to fucking die on some of the older roller coasters the last time I went to Six fegs...I hit my head on a bar on Ninja and the car on Great American Scream Machine felt like it was about to jump off the track. Superman was cool though, and seemed a hell of a lot safer. But that was the first time I'd been there in like 10 years, and it pretty much sucked.

it's not good for your brain, the study showed that it helps dexterity. they only tested super monkey ball.
