Performance updates for Vista users
« on: July 30, 2007, 04:28:09 PM »
There's a bunch of hot fixes for Vista that will supposedly improve performance.  They can't be found in Windows Update for some reason.  Here's the links if you want to give it a try.

Also, I just noticed that there are new Geforce 8 drivers for both 32bit/64bit Vista on Nvidia's website.  I know several of you are using Nvidia hardware w/Vista.  Hopefully, Nvidia has fixed their terrible Vista drivers.

Oh snap, wait before installing the hotfixes.  It seems to be completely random whether you get performance increases or not.  Some are reporting better hard drive performance while others are reporting worse overall performance.

New Nvidia drivers should be fine though.  I've had no problems after installation.   I also forgot to mention that there was a pretty new 680i driver package.
