Meh, it's entertaining. The concept was cool enough, even though its execution is pretty mediocre and filled with plot holes. The gunkata is ridiculous, but it's an excuse to have Preston have the most on-screen kills of any movie EVER. That makes it awesome in my book.

You must understand that my comments regarding Equilibrium and The Thirteenth Floor are not meant to argue that either of them are good movies (though I found them entertaining), but are meant to indicate just how bad I think The Matrix is.

eXistenZ is a better and more interesting commentary on the nature of virtuality, but the matrix is more fun to watch as a semi-original action flick. eXistenZ has FLESHPODS; the matrix has hugo weaving. i'm gonna call it even.

I really watch it this way:

Matrix
Matrix Reloaded (starting at the basketball court/skip everything before)
Matrix Revolution

I actually liked Revolution for some odd reason. I mean all three are at their core 'good' movies. Matrix being the best of them, obviously, but despite what a lot of people seem to think about the birth of the sequels, I think they tie together nicely. There's a bunch of great documentries that come with the ultimate collection that go over a lot of the process and story, and I think that helped me appreciate Revolutions.

I mean I like LOTR and all, but there are far more boring parts to those movies than the Matrix Trilogy, which is why 9 times out of 10 id rather watch the Matrix Trilogy.

That's easily the worst part of the movie.

And I hated all The Matrix movies. I saw the first one twice, the second time only because my friends insisted they wanted to go see it again, and I walked out of the second screening about ten minutes before the movie ended. I've never even seen Revolutions and doubt I ever will.

There are many flaws to the entire Matrix series, Carrie Ann Moss' looks ain't one of them.
