80 mechs vs my 4, I take full damage if I attack people with their counter attacks, wtffffffffffffffffffffff where do I buy 80 repair kits to keep up with this.

are you using the Spirit abilities? things like Focus, Strike, Valor sure help. these are specific abilities for characters that enhanced their combat abilities in battle.

and yeah OG2 is really really hard.

yeah, im just unclear what all these stats mean and when im using energy and my mechs are wussy even with level up stat upgrades n what not. I might still pull through this mission tho.

it is overwhelming at first yeah. I honestly didnt know what the fuck to upgrade when I first played SRW, so many options.

couple of tips

1) pick 9 or 10 dudes and their mechs you like and upgrade the shit out of them, also know what each mech is good at and taking full advantage of that helps. like grungust, dont waste points on mobility with them since they are slow anyway, maximize their armor so that enemies wont do much damage to them.

2) when upgrading weapons, pick the one you use the most with that mech and upgrade the crap out of it. try to also upgrade their best move a bit, since it helps against boss fights a lot. you can also upgrade a couple of machine guns since almost every mech can use those and they are cheap to upgrade.

3) when it comes to giving points to a pilot, try to give him/her skills that benefit what they are good at. for example Excellen is good a longe range attacks so giving her skills/abilities that help with her style would be a good idea.

how the fuck am i supposed to beat the first bian zoldark fight in SRW OG1, he has 47K HP! at BEST I do 2K damage with a T-link Ripper from Aya, but normally my mega beam rifles do 400-800 damage. ow ow ow ow

I picked Kyosuke in OG1.

when a boss has a bunch of HP the best thing to do is save those Spirit Point and unleashing a good offensive turn on his ass, Valor is great in this case since it doubles your attackpower for one move it greatly helps when fighting bosses with a bunch of HP.

another thing you should have in mind is that some characters can assist or help others, for example say you have two mechs close to each other... Mech A attacks if Mech B has an offensive assist once Mech A finishes attacking, Mech B will then procceed to attack, so basically you are attacking 2 times. Mech B can still move in that turn since all it did was help Mech A. the game doesnt offer tutorial for any of these things but stuff like that can really help you in battles.

I wish the cutscenes made sense, the rant about tea before the third mission was bizzare.

error, yeah, i know all that, but even WITH spirit and support (I have Aya in position to counter with T-Link Ripper and Irm to counter with the Grungust rifle shot), his armor is so thick and his counter so brutal (he does some insta-kill gravity gun shot as a guaranteed-hit counter if i don't use Sense) i can't make a dent in the 3 turns i need before his backup shows up. i hafta make him drop 36K in 3 turns to make him flee, and i'll lose half my team to counters in the first round if i try to pile on the damage -- which wouldn't work ANYWAYS, because the weaker mechs like the gepenst mk2s and tts only do 10-100 damage with their best weapons.

valor is useless because his counter is 100% and will probably wipe out even the RX mechs. i hafta use sense or the other skill that neutralizes a counter.

why o why did the lame story keep me from deploying cybuster this mission

do you have EN reducing missiles? that could help neutralize his defense and his counter move that kills your mechs.

You could keep losing the mission.  The game will realize you suck and switch to easy mode.

...that's what happened to me the first time I played through OG1.
