...those wonderful days where it's overcast outside and your company is cutting 4,000 + jobs and you have no idea what is happening with your gig.

I think I'm going to re-take up smoking. It keeps you thin!

it's all good, he's been working there for over 25 years now, he's ready for a layoff and nice goodbye check. thing is, they never want to lay him off because of how much severance they'd owe him.

Good luck man. I had a mother of all days yesterday which culminated in my PC crashing. It's been much better today, but news like that really puts things into perspective. All the little problems you have in life and work are really so insignificant when it all comes down to it. At the end of the day if you've still got a job and your loved ones are healthy, that's better than most people.

You'll be alright, don't start smoking again. You know that isn't the answer.

Yeah man, I live in Sacramento and there's one huge Intel building about 20-30 miles away in Roseville. They've been laying off people by the thousands for the past year or two.
