It's been a busy gaming week for me. What made matters "worse" was taking a look over what was coming out in the months of September/October/November. Only one word can describe my reaction, "OMG".
I CAN QUIT WHENEVER I WANNA!
So I will come clean first, WA4 is shelved. The game was ok, Raquel kicked ass, the story was picking up, but then came the last PUZZLE DUNGEON. I think after the fire mountain, the airship, and a gajillion other "WONDER" item puzzles I had finally had too much. I resorted to hitting up the strategy guide for help but even when I did what the guide said I couldnt get through this last dungeon. Either the guide didnt describe the right room to me, or I had been looking for a reason to 'quit' all along. At 22 hours in, I had got my money's worth. Besides, something much more important looms on the horizon.

Valkyrie Profile 2 is out this week, buy it or be a big fat loser. Also the OST and arranged soundtracks rock. Sorta glad WA4 got the boot so there would be room for ol VP! I still need to finish Grandia III tho, just need a good day of grind.
Disgaea 2?! MOre like DisgaeaICANNEVERSTOPPLAYING2!
Fourty hours. THAT IS 4 and a 0. I have dumped so much time in this game compared to everything else and I dont remember half of it. Im only halfway through the story yet I am completely obsessed with getting this one sword to level 100, which is just like, 70 more maps! Plus item gods! I did beat the Item King in the sword which was a huge accomplishment, its not easy, those bastards are tough. I still fear the ambling pirates, if I cant get to an exit in time their 106+ level asses will destroy me. I somehow suspect I will be playing Disgaea 2 well into November. NOTHING STOPS NIS! NOTHING OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.
Anyone got some Garlic Water?
Strategy guides are worth it sometimes
The Okami strategy guide rocks. 15 dollars gets you great art and a list of side-quests you would probably never figure out on your own. Hell there's a few main quest points I wouldnt have figured out for a good hour or so. I think it comes down to me not thinking like a dog. I mean I start this game and im all WOAHAH Im gonna paint shit and hit them with beads but thats all I do. But like any NINTENDO game, which this is not, the games moments depend on some out of the box thinking. Like draging people around by your jaws into the moonlight. I woulda never thought of that. Maybe I didnt read enough of what people were saying to me, maybe there is some foreshadowing going on that lets me know what I need to do, but sometimes I love me a good strategy guide. Okami guide is worth it.
Hell Okami is worth it! I just cannot fathom how Capcom can be so awesome. I mean back in the Dreamcast days I thought they were pretty fucking badass, and now its like, just leagues beyond that and my mind is blown every time I load my game of Okami or play Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins or Mega Man ZX. They have great new material, fantastic franchise material, they are so great. The end.
IS IT SECRET?! IS IT SAFE?!
Apparently not, because I have already been admonished by Willco for my shameful purchase of (shokku incoming) POKEMON MYSTERY DUNGEON. Yes, I caved. But the lure of a huge ass dungeon game where you get loot and collect things and level up was just too strong. So far its delivered everything I wanted.
I retested and was given CHARMANDER status, I named him Xenu, and my rescue team is named HUBBARD. I lacked the foresight to name treecko Tom Cruise

The game is actually pretty hard too, early on I had to move so treecko would get hit by the rock enemies, cause his life leech is off the goddamned charts and it keeps me from having to heal his lame ass.
I can hear you all laughing, but FUK YOU GUYS I LIKE VIDEOMAGAMES!
(P.S. I am also picking up Mario vs Donkey Kong: March of the Minis this week. Sounds like Lemmings but jawesome!)
