I dunno, I'm pretty busy with Tales of the World right now, but I guess it's something to look at once I'm finished with that, unless I pick Jeanne D'Arc first. For some reason I assumed since it was based off animu it would suck and so I avoided reading or finding out anything about it.

grow5 is a apparently pretty hideous too, career soft isnt exactly known for great visuals fest. I hope the gameplay delivers at least. Im a bit worried because it looks too much like FF12.

Grow 2 and 3 had solid gameplay, whatever their deficiencies were in regards to story or graphics. And the hi-res character portraits were nice.

i really dug growlanser II. a LOT. really interesting how they kept throwing in elements in every battle to confound you, and the game was so fast-paced.

GL3 on the other hand, turned into a mediocre RPG. still kinda fun cos it was growlanser, but i was not nearly as into it.

the games may have been ugly but i enjoyed the huge hi-res character portraiture.

anyway, i'll buy GL5. last PS2 game i buy? who knows!

websites got WA5 preview code today, btw, but i didn't read the embargo information before i turned it over to my boss.

i think you missed out. and the fact that it's 2D means it ran at like twice the pace of most 3D RPGs on the PS2, if not 3-5 times the pace of some (and 10 times the pace of magna fucking carta.)

Even when they were doing the Langrisser series, these guys (the former Masaya team, and whatever it is they're called now) were not known for doing great graphics. Their gameplay systems are pretty solid, though.

I wonder what you'd think about the Sakura Taisen series...III, IV, and V have full-on 3D battlefields but the graphics are pretty mediocre early-DC-looking.

I really liked Wild Arms 4, but never beat it. WA5 looks to be more of the same, but that's not a bad thing. I really wish this game was only $30, because I'd buy on impulse. I still want it, but I really don't know if I have time to play this (Persona 3 and Brave Story will keep me busy).

I hated it too.

One reason I liked Wild Arms 4 so much was because Media Vision ditched it.

Yes your able to turn them off (Overworld?). Not sure about Dungeons though, if its anything like WA4, you'll have to destroy or turn off a switch somewhere within the dugeon.
