PD: how's the new Common album?

I haven't gotten it yet. I'm saving up for my move so I can't buy extraneous stuff.

Eh...

Overall it's good, but I don't think it's better Be at all. Many of the songs seem to sound the same, borrowing a quite boring feel. The energy that filled Be (The Corner, Chi City, Testify, etc) is simply missing. Like I said it's good, but a bit boring.

Lyrically he's on point as usual. The production is good, but doesn't touch Be imo. Yet despite all those gripes, there are some really good songs on the album. Obviously the singles are good, also check out this:

8/10 I guess, but disappointing because I expected more

It's a fact, not an opinion.

Be is a good album, but not his best, so this doesn't sound too bad imo.
