I played the previous two Gundam Battle games on PSP and they were both enjoyable B- quality games, but it looks like Battle Chronicles is going to amp things up a bit, according to what I've just read:

Game Star has details about the PSP game, coming October 4. It's listed as the 3rd in the Gundam Battle series, following the previous Gundam Battle Tactics and Gundam Battle Royale. The game has complete campaign missions for First, Z, and 0083 and also at least includes MS from ZZ and CCA. With the new chain mission system, mission content changes constantly based on gameplay circumstances. Coop play is possible on all the over 100 missions so if one person is having trouble clearing a particular one, they can bring in a friend to help. Versus mode formats (1 vs. 1, 1 vs. 3, etc.) can be freely chosen. Additional missions and other elements will be unlockable via passwords given out through magazines. Every MS, as well as their weapons and shields, will be customizable using points you receive by clearing missions.

The latest issue of Famitsu reveals the game includes space and underwater missions as well as the following mobile suits: S Gundam, GP02, Dendrobium, Xamel, Gerbera Tetra, GP01, Nu Gundam, ZZ Gundam, Qubeley, Psyco Gundam Mk II, Dijeh, The O, Gabthley, and Baund Doc.

Edit: Happinet Online says there'll be over 140 MS and 120 missions.

I'm sure probably 20 or so of those MS's are just color variants, but that's still quite a bit of units for the game.

The games play a bit like the arcade games designed by Capcom, but with more strategic type missions and more units on either side.

i'm pretty whory for gundam. i actually enjoyed gundam musou sort of.

Ill buy Gundam Musou if they make it an Empires title, but for now the gameplay just doesnt have enough for me.

I'm playing through the original Gundam SEED PS2 (Japan only) game today, and for the $10 that I paid for it, it's not bad. It's a really basic 2.5 side scrolling beat em up, with some kind of fun rail shooter levels.

FWIW, if you like the Gundam Vs. games on PS2, this plays a lot like those.

140 units...so far they've only revealed about thirty...110 left to go! I am guessing many of those will be palette swaps, so we can probably expect things like Amuro's Zeta Gundam, the G-3 Gundam, Casval's Gundam, etc.

I'll definitely get a 360, but I rarely ever play my DS, and I know that a PSP would suffer the same fate, even with Crisis Core coming out. Maybe if I took mass transit I'd be more about the handhelds...

I buy enough shit. Even though it's GUNDAM, I still can't justify it. :'(

But, if I weren't married, I'd already have a 360, probably a Wii, and more than likely a PSP. But, since I am married and buying a house, my priorities are skewed. $:-\$

New update to the site, with more movies, game info, and mobile suits revealed. Some of the new mobile suits include the Gundam GP01Fb Zephyranthes, Anavel Gato's custom Rick Dom, Gelgoog Cannon, and a couple of others...I can't wait till they show off more stuff from ZZ and Sentinel. There's supposed to be 140 MSs and so far they've only shown off 40 or so.

Unless a PSP is all you own, playing PSP games on a TV is really lame. PSP graphics were not made for anything bigger than a PSP screen.
