I know we were going to get something going with this game, but the times I will be at home are pretty unpredictable and whenever the mood does strike me to play the games its either really early in the game or really late. Regardless, im sure a lot of you have been playing ROAD TO THE SHOW possibly the best sports game mode ever.
I tried ROAD TO THE SHOW as a third base dude but damn being a pitcher is so fun. Outwitting batters feels so great. I am still in rookie mode topping out my performance before switching the difficulty at the beginning of next season. Im stuck on the BluGays but we actually are in a wildcard spot right under the Yankees is who are of course like 16 games ahead of my time, and even more ahead of everyone else. They suck tho cause I can pitch through most of their order with no problem. I pitched a few innings of the all-star game which was neat and now im in the month of august.
I gotta say the sinker is still my favorite pitch of the game. The screwball has been useful for sneaking the ball into dangerous locations, but when push comes to shove a sinker can strike out a batter easy. Granted, its AI, but there is something extremly satisfying about dropping a high sinker into the top of the zone, or having it drop right out of the bottom. Hell, even the change up can be fun if you pitch it low and outside but release late causing it to land in the far bottom corner of the zone. Granted with the change up's speed you cant pitch REAL low and outside or you'll end up down and out of the zone.
I also love how the game forces you to mix up pitches and REALLY adapt to your position in the count and who's on base. I mean I currently pitch a fastball at 102 mph tops, but I STILL have to be so careful as to where that pitch is thrown.
God damn I love this game, and I dont even follow baseball anymore.
