Have you ever bought a game just because of a mod/expansion pack?

I've never bought AoE III, but because of the new The Asian Dynasties expansion pack I think I will. The old west doesn't really suit me, but being able to play as the Japanese/Chinese sure does. So, has a mod/expansion pack made you interested in buying a game?
