I am a huge fan of short films, and I hate it that Short films always get the backseat. They even tried to remove the category all together from the oscars a few years ago. Anyway, this was playing at a local theater and my girlfriend has been talking about it for a few weeks. I didn't really know what to expect, because it was 18 films about paris in 2 hours. I didn't see how any of the films could develop. And I really didn't see how there could be 18 unique films about paris. But I was wrong. Except for 2, they were all good to fantastic.

My favorite's were the short film by the Coen Brothers staring Steve Buscemi and the last one by Alexander Payne. Other notables included a vampire film by Vincenzo Natali, starring Elijah Wood, a story about mimes by Sylvain Chomet and a story about a blind guy by Tom Tykwer, starring Melchior Beslon and Natalie Portman .

My least favorite was the one by Gus Van Sandt, which doesn't surprise me.

To be fair, while FoC is a fucking idiot, it'd probably be in everyones best interest to call for his lepering in his BAD threads. This one is legitimate and calling him out in here only makes me not wanna leper him. Not that I could anyway, but im not gonna endorse lepering over threads like this.

Dude, that's hardly the point. The point is that he proved he shouldn't have the privilege of making threads over the long haul, and he's circumventing it with a second account. HOW IS THIS EVEN AN ISSUE?

But the movie is pretty decent, I saw it at my local art theater. In terms of "artsy" movies currently out Once is the far better pick though.

Once is amazing too bad it likely wont get any oscar noms, but it will be on my top 10 at the end of year, for sure.

Once came out a few months ago and is still doing quite well in terms of word of mouth and critical acclaim for such a low-budget little film. If nothing else, I can see it getting nominated for best song.

Hot Fuzz did uh 23 million in USA. I wouldn't call that amazing but for a unheard of brit comedy with a low theater count thats damn respectable.

Did you ever watch the show in the 90's pre-F&G that Apatow wrote for and produced, The Larry Sanders Show? It's still my favorite stuff he has done to this date. I was just listening to commentaries Apatow did for the boxset today.
