I like Okami. I don't hate it at all. GAF and it's denizens only know two extremes: bad and OMFG IT'S AWESOME GREAT.

Okami is merely OK.

Well, he *is* right about GAF and its gross tendency towards exclusive extremism. On the other hand, nitpicking Okami to death is a CRIME.

you made some good points in that thread and nailed down good words for some of Okami's nagging defaults which also bothered me... still I believe myself to enjoy the game slightly more than you did

but see, whenever there's something particularly remarkable about a game, people get dazzled by it and forget all the other defaults

no one ever agrees unanimously anymore about games... I think it's because 3D is too much subjective as a medium, there were lots of pretty much unilaterally acclaimed 2D titles

That could be said of ANY game, especially crap like SHenmue and Suikoden 3 -- games with clear and terrible flaws. Okami has very few real flaws that aren't deeply, er, personal in nature.

Wind Waker's a legitimately bad game with some great ideas. It's closer to crap like Shadow of the Colossus than Okami or Ocarina.

Original Dragon Ball was better because it actually had some elements to make it entertaining. For all the reasons you hated Okami, to like Dragon Ball Z is simply baffling.

Yes, WW sucks.

Also, I might get reamed here, but I LOVED the original dub of DBZ. The one that they used to show on channel 9 in the old days. Sure, it had equally lame dialogue, and horrible censoring, but the voices and music were INFINITELY better than the crap that was used to replace both in later seasons.
