Seriously, I hope that Radiant Mythology sells decently enough (I already bought a copy, I did my part - you guys should get one too, for baby Jesus's sake) to warrant this.

I mean, okay, I don't want to play through Tales of Phantasia again (even if they added skits and redid some of the graphics), since it already got ported to GBA, but check it out - Tales of Rebirth just got announced for PSP (that was the PS2 title by the same team that did Destiny and Eternia), Tales of Destiny 2 (not Eternia, which was only Destiny 2 in the US) got ported to PSP just a little while back, and Eternia (US Destiny 2) has been out for a while (but you can just import the Euro version in English).  So Namco should get off its ass and do US versions of Destiny 2 or Rebirth (since Rebirth just got announced, that's probably the more viable title).

Also, on a related note, they just announced Tales of Destiny Director's Cut for PS2 (the director's cut of the remake of the PSX game that came out only a few months back, lawl).  DEAR JESUS CHRIST, PLEASE BRING THIS GAME TO THE US.  Yeah, I know, it's a PS2 game, last gen, but really, PS2 still has a lot of life left in it.  And this game - I wants it.  :'(

You know what, I 100% agree with you.  Namco Bandai continued to bring the Legend of the Heroes games stateside (Not to hate on the game, but I'll say they weren't too great), yet won't bring a Tales stateside for PSP.  I could careless about Eternia, because it came to Europe and I can just import.  Tales of Phantasia: Full Voice Edition might not have enough content to be brought stateside (I dunno if Nintendo has some publishing rights to ToP), but it would still be nice to have.

However, I BADLY want Tales of Destiny 2 and Tales of Rebirth to come stateside.  I'd be willing to pay $50 for the game, in all seriousness.  I created the Tales Facebook group (has over 400 members), and many of its members really want the game and would buy a PSP for it (those who don't own one).

This is why Namco Bandai Games America makes me angry, because they either take too long to bring games stateside (like Tekken 5 DR), or just pass up on many games they shouldn't (while releasing games no one cares about at times).

Yeah, I want that Tales of Destiny Directors Cut at least too.

Why do you like Tales so much, Ichirou?

Do you dislike Tales games, Himu?  :o

Well, I like the because they're fun...the battle systems aren't that deep, but the gameplay tends to be a bit more exciting and active.  The stories are animu trash but the writers excel at creating fun characters, especially with the skits.  The hidden and optional stuff tends to be very fun - from unique titles to extra costumes.  I like the fact that the games are slightly non-linear and encourage the player to do certain things in whatever sequence the player prefers.

Rebirth and Destiny 2 need to be localized stateside, PRONTO.

I used to like them. I have Tales of Destiny 1 and Tales of Destiny 2/Eternia. I liked those at the time, and when Symphonia came out I enjoyed it heavily. But last year I gave Abyss a try and I thought it was crap. I can only stand ultra mega mature rpgs now unless they've got charm up the ass ala Dragon Quest. Thanks a lot SMT!

I may give Tales of the World or whatever the fuck a try someday when I get the new psp, if only because it's supposedly a roguelike, and roguelikes/dungeon crawlers tend to be the only rpgs I enjoy now.

I didn't like Abyss that much either, but that's mainly due to technical issues more than anything else.  Strictly on gameplay, it was a great game, I thought.

Tales of the World is roguelike but it's also a game that's mainly directed at fans, with pretty much all the characters you recruit coming from previous Tales games.  That's why it's weird to me that they chose that game to port instead of one of the main games in the series like Destiny 2.  But I guess the 3D graphics were the reason they chose TotW....

I like TotA a lot, and it might be my favorite Tales game.  But my biggest issue with it is all technical (like the load times are terrible, graphics feel glitchy, etc.).  Although Legendia wasn't as good (and didn't look all that great), there's no denying it ran much smoother on PS2.

The Tales series is definitely one of my favorites.

Supposedly HD Loader fixes a lot of Abyss's problems but I can't be bothered to invest in a HD just to test that theory out.
