Heroes, pffft...
« on: September 26, 2006, 09:08:03 PM »
I wanted to like it, but it seemed like a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy of an already faded mimeographed Lost script, with some pages from Unbreakable slipped in. Weak. And who DIDN'T see that ending coming?  Man, Adrian Pasdar just can't seem to catch a break. I remember him from a little-seen Fox show called Profit (which was awesome, way ahead of its time, and would probably be a decent hit if it premiered today). Better luck next time, Adrian.  Some real howlers in the dialogue, too.  I didn't think they'd stoop to a "You're special" moment, but YEP.

I've noticed a lot of folks jacking off to it on various message boards, though.  I guess comic book nerds will accept and praise just about anything they think might somehow legitimize their obsession with grimacing men in colorful pajamas punching each other.

The pilot was pretty bland - says something when the most interesting character and sub-plot is Japanese.  The show has promise, though.  I thought Studio 60 was pretty weak last night.  So was Prison Break.  Letdown Monday.

Thank god we got action tuesdays to look forward too. The Unit, and Smith should save my tv viewing tonight. Heroes wasnt horrible but it deffinatly has pacing issues. Its like it's too fast or something. And yes yesterday was let down monday on all the shows i watched. WTF strong starts but crappy continuations.

And you guys should watch the class and how i met your mother on cbs that shit is pretty good. Especially for the half hour crowd.

Not really.  It was a mediocre pilot, through and through.  Too many characters with bad dialogue, not doing shit. And it looks like we'll get previews of money shots week after week a la LOST, only to tune into more drawn out melodrama.  I'll give this show about three episodes and then it's off my watch list.

A friend of mine bought it and loved it.  He said if you can get past the pretty-boy lead characters, it's a pretty solid show with some genuinely cool ideas.  I'll probably borrow it from him when I get the time to watch it all.

No, but it's nice to hear!  :-*

You would seriously like Profit if you've never seen it, by the way.  The whole eight episodes are available on DVD.

Easily the most entertaining part of the show, which says a lot.

I found Heroes very bland but I find plenty on TV enjoyable.  Lost is good(for now), I enjoyed the Studio 60 pilot. I think My Name Is Earl is simple fun. I like 24. I love Boston Legal. And I find The Office to be the greatest sitcom since Seinfeld and Battlestar Galactica the greatest piece of science fiction since the original Star Trek(not counting Firefly, that thing didn't even last aseason)

Any self respecting "tv watcher" who doesn't watch BSG or The Office has something wrong in their head.
