Hd-dvd is better than Blu-ray?

Wow, that's truly surprising.  I always figured that eventually BD will have much more special features than HD-DVD because of the BD's size advantage.  Guess it's not happening yet.  That's kinda annoying 'cause I tend to go BD over HD-DVD when I can.  1 format would be so much better.

OOPS! Wrong forum.  Sorry.

Yeah, choice is clean cut when you have no choice.  So you picked up the Hd-dvd drive for the 360?  How're you liking it?

I agree with what you and MAF are saying.  I wish there were no format battle too.  But the video/audio advantages of HD movies are too great for many to ignore.

I just wish BD came with some ability to play the disk in DVDs :'( . Thats the one thing keeping me away from buying Blu Ray movies...I don't want a bunch of movies on a format that goes the way of the dodo.

Same here. I had no interest in getting involved until one format was declared the winner, but seeing how I own a PS3, I don't have a problem buying movies on Blu Ray.

Why worry about that unless you think the PS3 will also go the way of the dodo?  As poorly as the PS3 has been selling, nobody really thinks that it's going away anytime soon.  Sony is stuck with putting the Blu-ray drives in PS3s unless they don't give a shit about the mess it would create if old Blu-ray games aren't supported anymore.  Also, the PS3 is pretty reliable, so I doubt yours will die anytime soon.

That is true...I guess I'll treat it like a secondary format. I've got lots of family and usually lend out movies, I won't be able to do this with BD movies. I'll probably just buy movies that really interest me instead of substituting DVD as a whole with BD.
