As long as the uploader isn't a complete tool, you can find really high quality divx files on joox.

It's streaming divx - CASE CLOSED.  It's crap presentation.  Again, it's fine for watching something like FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI: JASON LIVES, but if you're using it to watch legitimate films that need to be watched on a couch in their native format with proper sound... you should be shot.

At this point you're just giving the kibosh on all divx stuff, which is kind of silly.

If the fact that the movie is streaming bothers you, you can always just use the download option to download it locally to your machine.

Pretty much.

Joox used to have a great quality version of The Departed up. I have the DVD and had watched it on my computer before, and the joox version looked no different. There are definitely bad-to-ok quality movies on there, but most of the ones I've watched were nice, and not much different than the DVD counterpart. Of course nothing beats sitting on the couch watching a movie on a big TV, but not everyone has that privilege, and I certainly don't want to rent all these movies.

Joox is awesome, close the thread!

If you want to watch them on a TV all you need is a modded/softmodded xbox. Downloaded the videos from joox, change the extension to .avi, and play them in XBMC on your TV.

Willco is right. I sometimes in bordem browse those sites.

But in the end, watching a movie on a small computer screen is a disgrace.

Who cares. It's just a movie. It's not like you're watching it at youtube quality.

Figures the only two people who are bitching about Joox so far are massive fucking movie snobs. It's a goddamned moving picture with sound.

To each his own with whatever quality you want to watch your movies, anime or tv shows.  However, ever since I was a kid I could not understand why people would watch crap on bootlegs with horrendous quality.  I could not take the added audience soundtrack of occasional crying babies and terrible video quality.  But again some people are fine with that tradeoff.

We're not talking about "horrendous quality bootlegs." Most of the stage6 streams are damn near close to TV quality (considering it's on a 17 inch monitor). The people who watch recordings from someone's cell phone in the theater are a whole other breed.

In that case forgive my ignorance.

Speaking of Stage6, the entire first two seasons of THE WIRE are on TV-Links:

how is this a crap presentation?

it's basically the same as downloading a dvd rip. you've never dloaded dvd rips?

also, i don't mind watching movies on a 17'' or 19'' monitor.

How can these sites who stupidly prone the violation of copyright exist and be known in the mainstream without having the Hollywood majors on their ass?

I've never watched movies on Joox...my tastes tend to run towards the obscure so I doubt they'd have anything I'd want anyway.
