Describe your movie preferences

Not a 'what is your favorite movie' thread. Rather, describe the TYPE of movies that you like, and what you don't like. For me:

-I enjoy most genres for the most part, though prefer fantasy adventure
-Only comedies I tend to like (minus rare exceptions) are parodies
-Hate movies that contain or rely on any form of raunchy/vulger/toilet humor
-Hate movies with excessive, unnecessary violence

Edit: Oh, and buddy cop movies. Especially when one of them happens to be a 'wacky' minority.

lots of stuff. for instance,  the types of movies in which someone experienced teaches a younger one the ropes. stuff like wonderboys and scent of a woman etc.

Preference? A good movie period.

Although, if I was to pick a favorite genre it would be drama/suspense/thriller. My favorite movies are mind fuck movies.

I like things that are good.  I don't like things that suck, unless they suck so much that they become unintentionally hilarious (Van Helsing, for example).

-Movies about empowerment or inspiration
-Movies about Travelling Pants
-Movies about a "Ya Ya Sisterhood"
-Movies about romances that suffer cliched pitfalls from previous romance movies
-Movies that try to hard to 'make me think'

Pretty much sums up my taste. I'm not a fan of comedies tho, or romance dramas

I'll watch pretty much anything as long as it's original and creative.  I'm especially fond of Italian cinema, in all its forms - from cheesy swords-and-sandals movies and spaghetti westerns, to neorealism and serious historical dramas.  My favorite directors are mostly Italian or Italian-American too, which is interesting.  IMO, Italy is the country with the richest cinematic history in all of Europe, even beating out France and the UK.
