I read a thing saying that if you're an organ donor and you get in a wreck or something they'll let you die is that true? I am an organ donor but if this is true I want to be taken off.

One time I went to the ER with a broken thumb. They looked at my driver's license, saw I was a donor, and hit me in the back of the head with a hammer and tried to rip out my kidneys, but I got up and punched the doctor and ran out of the hospital and made a splint out of popsicle sticks. True story.

Also, if your parents/next of kin don't know your wishes, you won't be an organ donor even if you are signed up. Next of kin has to give consent in most circumstance. Make sure people close to you know what your wishes are.

I have organ donor listed in my driver's license, but I really should let my family members know about my wishes. In all seriousness, there's a pretty dire need for more and more organ donors. I believe there's a few European countries where you are automatically considered an organ donor unless you opt out. That seems to me to be the most practical way of going about the whole thing, otherwise, so many perfectly good organs that might save lives are just going to go to waste.
