I've got two laptops now.
The hinge snapped off on the first one (have no clue how, I didn't drop it or anything).

How much would that cost to repair?
Anyway, I figured I was done with that laptop anyway, so I'd switch to this other one I've had put aside for a while. I hadn't been using it because, as of 6 months ago, it would only work when plugged into a wall. I planned on buying a new battery for it, but it magically started working the day I busted it out, so I just started using it.

Here we are a few days later, and now it doesn't work
at all. When I plug it into the wall, the blue ring around the charge port lights up, but the little lightning bolt at the front does not. I'm pretty sure it had about 40% charge left when I last shut it, so I think it's just fucked. Any ideas?
Anyway, I figure I'm going to be buying another fuckin' laptop. I don't want a Compaq, and I don't want a two-hinged one like the first one (the second one has a single, long, sturdy hinge. rowr). Needless to say, I don't feel like spending too much on it, especially since I'm definitely going to be buying a warrantee for the damn thing. I'd also like to buy it at brick and motor so I can have easy exchanges, which means BestBuy for me.
Here's what I've found:
My favorite already comes with 2GB of RAM, which helps subsidize the warrantee (I think I'd want 2GB with Vista Premium)

Number 2. I likes my AMD.

But if I'm gonna get Vista I want Premium and 2GB of RAM. Only the Toshiba is offering this out of the box, which frees up $$$ for a warrantee.
Wall of text avoidance:
What I'm really asking is - is the repair of the V6000 going to be pricey and time consuming? And is the Toshiba a good buy? Thanks.
