I know folks are really upset about the Bioshock demo, but in general, the download speeds suck.  What's the deal.  We pay money for the services and this is absolutely ridiculous.

yeah I am REALLY tempted to drop to silver after last night's debacle

I never play online, anyhow. demos/trailers/DLC/single-player XBLA games are 95% of my 360 online experience.

really?  i've never had any download issues with XBL.  i guess i can't relate to all the folks on gaf complaining about bioshock.  if anything, the speeds on PSN are mind numbingly slow for me and in some cases have stopped mid-download.  but i do agree we shouldnt be paying for XBL.  fuck all that noise.

This was an isolated case, clearly. I got the demo just fine.

Sites like Monster.com KILL NETWORK ADMINS if their sites downtime over the course of the year exceeds 1 Minute. Now this is a site that allows you to access the job listings freely.

Now looking at XBL where you pay for the service, you would think the money is going towards something like this and yet, when lots of people swarm like wolves the service drops to its knees. Do somethang bout it Microsoft!

I'm actually kind of happy wii has streaming video, wish live would do that at least for the standard definition stuff.

im on capped DSL, easy to see why my download speeds are teh sucks lol.

I think on the average the download speeds fo XBL are fine, this is just an extreme case where something was clearly wrong. Now if this becomes some bizzare habit then i'll be worried. Most of the demos I have downloaded have been as fast as I can expect. Im sure you'll cite the Halo 3 crap, which was imo embarassing for gamers who cried out as if their moms were shot.  Oh noes! TO WAIT A BIT LONGER NOESS! NO WORD FROM ON HIGH! THEY MUST HAVE DONE FORGOT ABOUT IT PERIOD! RIGHT AS GAMER TO KNOW BLAH BLAH.

Anyway, as for the Bioshock stuff. No one is perfect Willco, put the gun down and step away from the hostages.

I ran into the same issues with the Blue Dragon demo, fwiw. Maybe bandwidth is capped regionally and sucks to be in California?

I downloaded it in 30 minutes to an hour, I just left it because I was downloading some videos too and XBL stopped the download after 1% because XBL was getting too many downloads.  Apparently once it did download it was all right but this should be expected when half a million people are trying to download a gigabyte and the other people are playing online games.

I don't get why you would get so hyped over a DEMO of the beginning of the game (that will be different in the final version) when it's a FPS RPG.  It looked good but the gameplay doesn't blow you away in that part, you don't even fight a big daddy.
