I ordered an HDMI unit from Amazon Saturday night. Should be here Wednesday. Then I'm going to binge on Forza 2. And you got me to read Fall of Reach, you fucker.

Fall of Reach is good, Im enjoying First Strike so far. His writing of ground engagements improved quite a bit, but I still cant get over some of the mundane names for Spartans like FRED. I skipped THE FLOOD cause its shit. Ghosts of Onyx or whatever is written by Eric too, thats the fourth book. SHOULD BE GOOD I HOPEZ

I enjoyed Fall of Reach. There are a few parts that made me cringe because of how obvious the plot point was in the development of the characters but the space battles and the history of the Spartans and other major characters (Cortana) kept me interested. I started First Strike tonight.

the 65nm units are in the marketplace, and the recent 90nm unit before the 65nm release have WAY better heat sinks. you're safe!

I agree, the biggest fault with the books is how predictable a lot of it can be. Nothing is more predictable than The Flood since IVE PLAYED HALO lol

He writes really fun space battles tho, I agree. Plus like you say the Cortana stuff adds a lot of context to the Halo games that kinda makes a lot of other things make sense.

There's still a few disconnects between Fall of Reach and Halo (game) in terms of how the Pillar's MAC GUN is still working in the game when its demagnetized in the book and how Cortana claims to have knocked out a bunch of ships with the cannon and its like WHAT CANNON IT BE BUSTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, thats just the fanboy in me talking.

If Ratchet PS3 has as much recycled Ratchet tm Gameplay as Ratchet PSP count me out, even pretty graphics cant keep me interested in break box run near bolts and deal with predictable and corney cast.

halo 3 looks good but that flamethrower news is old. there's also a fourth brute grenade that is a firebomb. bungie seems to imply that you can burn foliage with it. seems really good against flood.

You sure? I'm thinking about getting a 360 around the time when Halo 3 comes out even though I don't have an HDTV. It's fall lineup cannot be ignored. Wii can wait until Smash comes out.

As long as you get an HDMI version of the premium you should be fine. The 90 nm version uses the elite board which has the 2nd heatsink Drinky mentioned.

it doesn't even have to be the HDMI version I think because while they're discontinueing the motherboards without HDMI, they're still putting the second heatsink on every motherboard. even on ones that are sent to the repair center.

There's still hope for Heavenly Sword. The recent Gamespot preview sounds promising. If they can get the framerate up to a solid 30FPS, it should at least be a B game. And I expect Uncharted to be more fun than Ratchet. As good as Ratchet looks, it's more of the same and it's still lacking platforming for a game that's supposed to be a platformer. Still, it's surprising how strong the 360 lineup is, considering how bad Sony made MS looked at E3. It just proves once again that MS still has a lot to learn from Sony in terms of marketing.

you know I really don't have much hype for halo 3. 2 left a bad taste in my mouth. I think I should pick it up in November-December in hopes to cause mischief to the NDP numbers, and more importantly the resulting threads. They'll count me as one of the people who bought a 360 this xmas, Ho, what a lark!

Is LBP coming out this year? LBP, Wipeout HD, and maybe Uncharted are all I can see that look any interesting. Lair and HS are gonna be generic rubbish with pretty graphics.

I'm really crossing my fingers that Halo 3 improves on the single player campaign, especially with regards to set pieces and level design. That has been the biggest problem with the first 2 Halo games.
