SKATE - don't fuck this up EA!

i've been longing for a decent skating game since THPS3.  imo, the series has gone to shit these past few years with project 8 being the cherry on top of the pile.  here's hoping that skate gives us skateboarding fans a glimmer of hope and an entirely new experience.

i'm pretty sure much of that video is staged.  in real gameplay videos, the camera is a lot like the hawk series

Yeah Thrasher was awesome becuase all the tricks were actually realistic and difficult to pull off (I used to skate when I was younger), the soundtrack was a 10000x better than Tony Hawks too. These days I couldnt give a shit about a skating game, although Tony Hawks Underground had some hilarious VA

if it's like amped or something where the extra realism is fun I could understand it but I'd be worried a realistic skateboarding game could be too hard and they haven't shown much gameplay yet anyway so that's a bad sign.

Yeah, I don't get all the hype.  I watched a demonstration video from E3, and the game looked incredibly, incredibly boring.  The EA guy demoing it seemed to be struggling to do anything, and the tricks he did land were very basic.  It just didn't click with me.

i loved thps2 and thps3 even though i never really played that one extensively. but tony hawk is getting old now and the skate videos i've seen look pretty awesome and it looks to be a diverse game.
