The problem is sports, the act of constant competition leaves these poor boys with no concept of how to live in harmony with society.  Worst than video games I say!

Vick's career is done.

That's actually GOOD news for the Falcons. Vick was always a terribly overrated quarterback. He could run, but his piss poor throwing always doomed the Falcons.

I'm a big stats guy but the results show that Vick's a much better quaterback than his numbers suggest.

Glad to see I'm not the only person who thinks Vick is criminally overrated. It's funny watching his supporters bring up his exploits from 2 to 3 years ago.

And with respect to ESPN...when's the album comin out?

I'm not a Vick supporter.  The only reason why I still watch football is to watch Peyton Manning lose.  It just seems that the Falcons win a lot more when Vick's around because of his unpredictability.  Teams just seem to have a hard time preparing for his unorthodox style.

I too once loved watching Peyton lose, but after watching him defeat my hero Tom Brady then win the Superbowl...he finally earned my respect. No more shall I clown on his cornbread ass. :(

The Falcons win a lot more when Vick's around because he's their only playmaker, and their only quarterback; in short it's similar to Cleavland winning a lot more when Bron Bron is around. I watched Joey "Piano Man" Harrington for many painful seasons, and I can guarantee that soon Atlanta will curse his name as Detroit has since he entered the league. Assuming Vick is hit with a heavy suspension of course.

Vick doesn't possess the mental capacity to play the quarterback position, and it's a shame commentators are too afraid to admit this. He doesn't study his playbooks enough, doesn't put enough emphasis on the mental aspects of the position, and is unwilling to master the systems provided to him. Yes he's had little stability in Atlanta, but much of that has to do with him not being able to comprehend the assignments given to him. All he can do is run, and once he suffers an injury that effects his athleticism he'll be the Grant Hill of the National Football League.

It could help. Could also read Berkley (I never have though).

Vick was not worth the money the Falcons gave him. Outside of beating an old Favre in Green Bay, what has he done?

Vick's response: "Hatas can't keep me down.  Michael Vick's got too much heart for that. "

But what about the dog fighting allegations?  What does that have to do with your detractors or haters as yout put?

"it is what it is. you know what i'm saying? "

True he generates major profits for them by selling out home games and selling merchandise, but perhaps Malek is right: Vick may be done for half the season, if not all. Expect the organization to take a huge financial hit, not to mention public image damage due to all this mainstream media coverage.

And leaving finances out the equation, Vick might as well play for the Yankees because he's been given a boat load of money yet hasn't earned it on the field where it counts.

The Falcons didn't need Vick to make money! Every NFL team makes a ton of cash off you dumb Yanks because of the television deals. And, winning puts asses in the seats too. Something Vick hasn't done for a few seasons. In addition, since those Crispy Cream eating Southerners outgrow the old jerseys really fast, they need to buy new jerseys every year anyway, regardless of the name on the back!

half of these "sports stars" would be working in walmart if it weren't for a huge chunk of luck and the talent to throw, kick, hit or run with/without a ball.

Vick is the main moron in the circus of morons. there was absolutely no reason for him to enter the group of individuals he did.

but he did.

he has MILLIONS, but couldn't resist the urge feel like a mindless cretin. just for one last time.

i hope he does time.

Do you honestly think the Falcons would be on TV without Vick?

With respect to winning, the Falcons haven't done much of that. But Vick is one of those athletes that command attention, no matter what. Like Barry Sanders in Detroit; we sucked for years yet people would still come to the Silverdome just to see him.

It wouldn't matter.  TV revenue comes from contracts signed by the NFL, and it gets distributed evenly to all the teams.  The Falcons don't get an extra dime for being featured outside of their own market.

I still content that Vick's absence from the team would effect them financially in terms of stadium revenue!

Do you? Do you... content...?

Well, if the Falcons could build a winner that could fill the seats too. NFL teams make so much money that filling the seats shouldn't be an issue. Personnel moves should be based strictly on making the team better and not filling seats.

Do you feel they've made those moves? I don't. In fact, I think this team is built around Vick and will crumble when he's removed.

The team they built –- and the back up QB they brought in -- was predicated on having Vick on the team. The rebuilding and retooling will have to take place in the future. \

Pd,Malek, can either of you change to a different avatar?  I know you two want to show your feminine sides but the colors are distracting.  It looks like the same guy is making several posts in a row until I looked closely.  And since this is one of the rare times that we talk about sports here,  can we talk about something more interesting than how much a NFL bottom feeder will make?  Such as how the Spurs stole the championship?

The pics confused me.  My eyes might be kinda sore from the other stuff that I look at on the net besides this forum.  Celts will be top dog in the East if everyone's healthy.  If any of the big 3 is on the DL or playing hurt, it's over though.

Well I changed my avatar to feature the man who proved god wasn't great, just 'aight.

People laugh at me but I'm used to it: the Celtics aren't going anywhere, I'm telling you! I have a bad feeling about this, and when I have a bad feeling about stuff, shit happens.

In the west...who knows. One thing is sure: the Spurs won't repeat, they'll be on vacation and win in the 2008-9 season.

Lakers=7th place? Maybe, although they may not even make the playoffs

ROTY? Won't be Durant or Oden.
