This would be boss. London to New York in 56 minutes at 5000 mph. It's just a shame it would cost 12 trillion dollars and decades to build if they ever decided to do it. :'(

It could be a potential disaster from a security standpoint, and I got to think a lot of people wouldn't ride it for the simple fact that they'd see nothing but ocean for an hour, in every which direction.

No, people drive in tunnels underneath the water, this is proposed above water and I gather there would be windows.

Would the windows do much good considering how little light there is at that depth?

Personally I think seeing the ocean rush by at 5000 mph would be the best thing ever.

It's proposed as a submerged floating tunnel. I believe that means it'll be submerged, but no sunk to the ocean floor completely. Rather, it'll be like something that sorta floats while underneath the water.

But you'd rather fly to Europe instead of a single boring hour without windows?

Nevermind, I see that it's not solidly held up, but just tethered to certain points along the oceanic crust.

Human body would be under tremendous stress going 5000 miles an hour. Its much more cost effective to do short orbital trips to the higher stratas and then land in different places. crazy shit either way.
