I am going through my semi-regular migraine spell. It is absolute hell. I am confined to bed because it hurts less when I am laying down. I am watching Blake's 7, drinking copious amounts of cold water (it numbs the seething pain), and consuming lots of alleve (it helps a little) and melatonin (it will eventually put me to sleep, away from the pain).

I have, on and off, about 1 to 2 weeks of this to go through.

No. I haven't been to a doctor about it for about 5 years. I know it's stupid, but this happens at most twice a year, and doctors scare the shit out of me.

It especially sucks because I am trying to cut down on drinking, and booze would at least make things relent enough so I could get some sleep. Since I am trying not to drink, I have resorted to abusing the hormone melatonin, which I have found will basically force you to go asleep at high enough doses.

Yes, and the Christmas Special from last year was pretty good, actually (if definitely a kid's show). I'll get my fix however I can.

That sounds serious, TVC. Go get your brain checked. Doctors aren't going to do anything to make you feel worse. You should at least try to find out what's causing the migraine. It's good that melatonin makes you sleep better but its effect might wear off if you're using it too much.

I had migranes last year, then got back into exercising and they all went away.
